One of the best sounding acrylic drum kits I've ever heard.

Great video - I've been looking for an acrylic kit for about 10 years and FINALLY scored a set of these locally. 5 piece (2 rack, 2 floor, kick), and I've never owned or played a kit like it. Lifelong Gretsch player, but couldnt pass these up. Superkick 10 on the kick, evans hydros on the toms....you cant ask for a better tone. Love them!

The bass drum sounds a bit high. I’m wondering what is the fundamental pitch of these kits like, as in a lot of reviews I’ve see the drums sound high pitched but in this one the Tom’s sound nice and low.

I'm using the Pearl heads that came with it. Maybe that's my problem.
@cuznred8 жыл бұрын
+Ben Anderson get those off the kit asap. I would suggest clear emps over clear ambassadors on the toms. For kick, clear ps3 batter and clear ps3 for reso with 4 inch port and no muffling. Your kit will kill it

Didn't Crush introduce a rather inexpensive seamless acrylic kit several years ago? I forget if they sound similar to Pearl's though
@Riddim48 жыл бұрын
+ItsNotSafe2Swim Yes. They were the first company in the US to offer Asian seamless acrylic shells in the US. As they caught on, Pearl, DW and Tama jumped in. I suspect they all bought from the same supplier. But what's become of Crush? A google search no longer turns up a company website.

how does this compare to the dw design series acrylic?
@aarwonable8 жыл бұрын
+Euan Lyons both are RCI acrylic shells, so one is a lot more expensive.
@scottlowell4938 жыл бұрын
+aarwonable cheez No, they aren't. They are MING seamless, not RCI. If DW used RCI, the kit would be 3-4 grand, not under 2 grand.
@aarwonable8 жыл бұрын
Scott Lowell Are you kidding me? Is that why people have suggested Crush's acrylic kits? They are all RCI. Pearl and Tama's acrylic lines are about $1000 and they use RCI. RCI is the most popular acrylic shell.
@scottlowell4938 жыл бұрын
+aarwonable cheez you have no idea what you are talking about, please stop, you are about to look very stupid. 1) RCI shells are not seamless, they are chemically welded with a seam. They do not supply crush, or the affordable DW line, they do supply the more costly DW like those Tommy Lee played. 2) RCI are considerably more expensive than MING. DW would not/could not afford to sell a $1500 shell pack based on the cost of RCI shells...which are not part of that line. 3) Popularity has nothing to do with it. Again, RCI is not seamless, and way too costly. The older tama mirage used USA made gold n times shells, assembled by C&C drums for tama. Please, stop with your babbling.
@aarwonable8 жыл бұрын
Scott Lowell C& C uses RCI, practically all custom drum companies use RCI. And like I said, both Pearl and Tama use RCI for their acrylic kits, and they are cheaper than the DWs. If you buy them at bulk, they are cheaper. I saw a video of the top 5 acrylic drum kits, which included Ludwig Vistalites, Drumcraft, Pork Pie, C&C, and Crush. Out of all of them, only 1 didn't use RCI. Ludwig, Drumcraft, Pork Pie and C&C use RCI, so yes, you are right, Crush doesn't use RCI.

I do, and many others with me. For some people it's actually really important to hear details about gear. Also, there's really no point in giving feedback on 5 year old videos. Try it with their more recent videos. If you watch those then you'll soon learn that they actually start the videos by playing for a while
