I lived in Yonkers, the Tower Records was on this main strip named Central Ave. I was heavily into metal and then went thru a freestyle era, so imagine my chagrin looking back…my friends had begged me to go. Begged me! I said, ewww grunge? No way, have fun! And they did. And I can never say I saw Pearl Jam when they were first starting out 😭

I am a late bloomer when it comes to the guys of Pearl Jam, 51yrs old a fan for 2yrs now it saddens me that because I became a new mother of my amazing son in 1993 that I missed looking deeper and buying albums to enjoy their awesome talent, and didn't experience their music when it came out(I am enjoying it now immensely), and because I haven't seen them live, I'm praying for just one more tour, they had to cancel my concert May of this year due to Cameron and Ament being Covid positive. I absolutely favor these musicians to any and all music I've heard before.
@shonuff43237 ай бұрын
Heh, I felt like a late bloomer and didn't get into them until 1998. I knew of them and heard their stuff, but I didn't like them at all. It all changed when I went to a concert in 1998. After seeing them live, I became obsessed. I had to have every song they ever did. I ended up going to as many shows they did as humanly possible. I don't really know how to explain it.

I miss the 90s so much. I don't know how to explain it to someone who wasn't alive then. Everything just seemed exciting. Everything seemed so fresh and new. The Seattle sound had just emerged and Rap/Hip Hop was in its golden age. Everyone got along. The country(USA) was doing great. We had just come out of the Gulf War, Soviet Union had just collapsed, and the economy was starting to do really well. It felt like the peak. People just seemed happier. It is such a stark contrast to today(2024). I do very much believe the internet ruined a lot of things. As great as the internet is, it has a ton of negatives.

Videos like these are proof that time travel either will NEVER be invented, or if it is possible to travel back in time and witness a sweet historic show, you enter another dimension completely. Or, 90’s videos are permanent relics and aren’t affected by time travel, and this show is actually crammed with time-travelling Pearl Jam fans. This is a tough kind of show to play. Gotta watch your dynamics and volume and still bring out the best of the tune.
