I love their Psychedelic sound during the Jack Irons era, more chill and mellow with great sounds

I'll argue that this is the best Pearl Jam ever. Very intimate to begin...Falling Down for its first and only performance. Just perfect all around. Plus, the fact that it's at Red Rocks!

Me too. Honestly. Best PJ music was played during his period.
@Mono_80805 жыл бұрын
And there's something about his drumming... a kind of clumsiness which is very Ringo-like and make him the best PJ drummer in my opinion. I know my opinion is unpopular but I don't care.

They were musically the most interesting during his tenure. His style pushed them to do something different that they’ve never recaptured.

You mean the Jack Irons that quit on them 2 weeks before the start of a world tour? And Matt Cameron had to come in and learn 80 songs in 2 weeks. FUCK Jack Irons!!!!
@Shalanaya4 жыл бұрын
Yes definitely, Jack Irons was by far their most accomplished drummer, to me he's among the best in the world, cause the key that he brings to drumming is not so much a robot-like technique, but humanity, in comparison Cameron feels more like a robot, even when he was with Soundgarden, it feels soulless when it comes to depth of his touches, on the other hand Jack brought in dynamics (high/low/hard/soft), the inner ear and subtlety, he's the type that's not here as much for showmanship, but for the spirit. The band later also admitted themselves that he made them a better band, he influenced the type of music they started writing, the themes, the sound while tackling specific topics of their lives. It's not always a technique that changes the band, it's the philosophy that a person brings to the collective, he was instrumental in their direction as people, in their actions, outside the music, which went back into the music they started playing, in that sense he was probably the most influential of all drummers they had actually, as they stayed together thanks to his effots unifying them.

I buy the Vault vinyls the band releases, and agree this would be a perfect choice. They did put out the couple tracks as a holiday single, so odds are the show was mixed down. Would be an awesome “Lockdown” share. They coulda been legends and dropped it on the the 25th anniversary a few weeks back.
