Pearl Jam - I've Got A Feeling

I put this Pearl Jam version up on here not because I think it is better than the Beatles' original (because it isn't) but rather because it's a rare cover by an awesome band of a cool song. I love both versions but put this one up because I couldn't find it otherwise.

Andy was my little brother who died of cancer when he was 5. This song has always meant the world to me since I heard the bootleg in 1994

Its not a Paul McCartney song, John wrote the middle bridge of "everyone had a hard year wet dream and the rest of the middle. Its a joint written song, they each had a part of a song and then joined them together.

This song was stuck in my head today..but I could not remember who did the great cover of this 'Beatles' Song. Thank Goodness 5 hours later, I remembered was the Awesome Pearl Jam. This is one of the greatest songs I have ever heard.

Pearl Jam is the best fucking band ever. This is totally awesome. It sounds like a relaxed studio jam, and I love the references to TotD, Singles, and Andy Wood :D

Real cool! Thanks for posting! No substitute for the original, but I think these guys were just paying tribute, like they always do, when covering other artists records; never trying to show up their heroes. I never followed PJ very closely, but always got the impression of a band with more personal integrity than most.

Pearl Jam is an amazing band, but unless you are a big fan, you may not know how many covers PJ does. They usually do four or five covers per concert, always great, frequently new, varied, and surprising. Google Pearl Jam concert covers; you'll be shocked!

Yeah, it's not Mike. He talked pretty recently about trying to up his game vocally. Now Cameron is doing a lot of the backing with Jeff. As much as I loved Dave A. as a drummer, the dude had a cig hanging out of his mouth half the time. Still not the greatest band in backing vocals in my opinion but they're working on it I guess. Love em regardless.

rather than a cover, this song is more of an homage to the beatles song because the lyrics have been altered quite a bit. andy is andy wood. the lead singer of the band "mother love bone" if you look them up, you'll see why he would be in the lyrics of the song. :)

Heard a version of this many years ago, in the 90s. It was a live mix of I've Got a Feeling and Say Hello To Heaven. Beatles and Temple of the Dog. Had it on cassette, but over time lost it. Shame it was a very good mix.

The power of the Beatles' original version was that it was a metaphor for their reign and subsequent breakup. It was contemplative. Paul was desperate; unsure of himself and facing an unclear future. John was disinterested and dismissive. There is a subtext. In comparison, Eddie totally overplays it to something without any subtlety. But, hey, the universe is in his vocal cords.

You're completely misinterpreting what I am trying to say. Where in my original comment do I say "GREATEST BAND EVER"? What I am referring to are these trolls saying "pearl jam is far superior than the beatles... the beatles suck big balls." That's like saying "Mike McCready is the greatest guitarist ever but Stevie Ray Vaughan sucks." Yes it is all opinion and it's relative, but be reverential to these bands and artists who came before them. Pearl Jam obviously is.

Okay hold on a second people... I love Pearl Jam, TEN is one of my favorite albums, but let's be honest here, Pearl Jam is NOT better than The Beatles. In a span of only 5 years, The Beatles made the following albums (and writing every song themselves): RUBBER SOUL, REVOLVER, SGT. PEPPER, THE WHITE ALBUM, friggin' ABBEY ROAD! There is just no band in history that can compete with that. Plus there would be no Pearl Jam without The Beatles. Give credit where credit is due.
