When I am feeling weighed down, stagnant, and frustrated, this song never fails to remind me to take a step back and see my life in broader terms. Reminds me to put my focus and energy into things that really matter. Experiencing this life, the journey, the enlightenment, loving unconditionally... these things matter. Making money, paying bills, owning things, status... these things in the end, do not matter.

What about the audio? Backspacer isn't owned by any of the labels and PJ doesn't block usage of their music on KZbin as most bands do. Despite some 700K page views, I haven't made a single dime off of this video. It was simply meant to be a visual accompaniment to one of my favorite Pearl Jam songs ever. I put it together because I wanted to post an actual video of the song on my girlfriends Facebook wall, and only slideshows existed at the time. So no mixed messages or ill intent.

this is outstanding. i understand that you made it with footage that already existed, but that just makes it even more incredible. there's a narrative, a story in that. i can identify myself with the guy, i can interpretate and give meaning to the scenes, and, most of all, i can see and feel all the turns and twists of the song. you've got an unbeliavable talent to combine images and music. this video just became my favorite of this big "kitten video library" that we call "youtube".

All the thoughts you never see You are always thinking Brain is wide, the brain is deep Oh, are you sinking? Tutti i pensieri che non consideri mai ma che fai in continuazione La mente è connessa la mente è profonda oh, stai affondando? Feel the path of every day Which road you taking? Breathing hard, making hay Yeah, this is living Pensa al percorso di ogni giorno quale strada stai prendendo? Respira forte ... e prendi il meglio sí, questa è la vita Look for love in evidence That you’re worth keeping Swallowed whole in negatives It’s so sad and sickening Cerchi l’amore e la prova che meriti di essere tenuto Ingoiare tutta la negatività è così triste e disgustoso Feel the air up above Oh, pool of blue sky Fill the air up with love All black with starlight Senti l’aria sopra di te una piscina di cielo blu Riempi l’aria di amore il buio con la luce delle stelle Feel the sky blanket you With gems and rhinestones!!! See the path cut by the moon For you to walk on Senti il cielo come una coperta fatta di pietre preziose e diamanti falsi!!! Guarda il sentiero tracciato dalla luna Fatto perché tu lo possa percorrere For you to walk on… Perché tu lo possa percorrere Nothing left, nothing left Nothing there, nothing here… Nothing left, nothing left Nothing there, nothing left… Nothing left, nothing left Nothing there, nothing here… Non è rimasto niente, non è rimasto niente niente lì, niente qui non è rimasto niente, non è rimasto niente niente lì, niente qui non è rimasto niente, non è rimasto niente niente lì, niente qui See the path cut by the moon For you to walk on See the waves on distant shores Awaiting your arrival Guarda il sentiero tracciato dalla luna Fatto perché tu lo possa percorrere Guarda le onde sulle rive lontane che aspettano il tuo arrivo Dream the dreams of other men You’ll be no one’s rival Dream the dreams of others then You will be no one’s rival Sogna i sogni di altri uomini non sarai rivale di nessuno Sogna i sogni di altri allora non sarai rivale di nessuno You will be no one’s rival… Non sarai rivale di nessuno A distant time, a distant space That’s where we’re living A distant time, a distant place So what ya giving? What ya giving? Un tempo lontano, uno spazio lontano è lì che viviamo un tempo lontano, un posto lontano allora tu cosa stai dando? cosa stai dando?

And this summer we cannot go to rock 'n roll festivals and concerts. I will continue supporting my favourite bands in other ways. They are our voice and speak a in a soft, orderly, and yet powerful way. This with Wishlist are the Pearl Jam songs I impress my closest people with (including girlfriends). There is one thing though from this song that I learned it is a times not valid: "Dream the dreams of other men, you'll be no one's rival." Well, since I started dreaming the dreams of other men I attracted many more enemies than before!

Kate, I had trouble on talking to you on some things because I did not want you to feel sad. You hid it well, but I could still see it. I hope time has passed and you are doing okay. So this is just a reminder of my love. A reminder of the way I felt and how I told you much of this, but some I might not have. I hope I am wrong about some of this. I hope you can find love one day again. I had to type this up in advance as I felt it coming from my soul. From my perspective the lyrics are from a husband to wife. The husband feels guilt and remorse for being ill and dying. This may be my perspective because that is what I am going through. I have laid in bed as my body rots listening to this song with the most beautiful woman ever to grace this plane. My heart aches knowing that she puts on a strong face for me now, but soon when I am gone she will be stricken with so much sadness and pain. This is a feeling I could not wish upon my worst enemy, or the worst of humanity. To be 37 and dying. To meet the perfect love that agape cannot give justice to. To fall madly overboard for each other, get married, and become so ill that you never got to take your honeymoon. How can I not feel guilt. She is 28 years old, and I would hope that she could once again find love after I am gone. Yet, I doubt no human being could ever love her as much as I. She will continue a long life knowing that she will never be able to reach that level of love that we have felt. I truly wish I could at least make love to her one last time. Maybe leave her a child for the future so that when I am gone, she can still feel love. I may be dying an agonizing death... but I've got the better end of this deal. For there is no way I could do what she has done. There is no way I could continue to live if I lost her. The deeper the love, the deeper the loss. And no poet or songwriter could ever put into words the love we share. And that will bring immeasurable sadness after I go. That is my take on this song. So be grateful. Use my words as perspective for life. And I hope all of you can find even half of the love that me and my princess feel. For that alone would be enough to change the world around you for the better.
