Lyrics re-posted "I Am Mine" The selfish, they're all standing in line Faithing and hoping to buy themselves time Me, I figure as each breath goes by I only own my mind The North is to South what the clock is to time There's east and there's west and there's everywhere life I know I was born and I know that I'll die The in between is mine I am mine And the meaning, it gets left behind All the innocents lost at one time Significance, between the lines There's no need to hide We're safe tonight The ocean is full 'cause everyone's crying The full moon is looking for friends at hightide The sorrow grows bigger when the sorrow's denied I only know my mind I am mine And the meanings, it gets left behind All the innocents lost at one time Significance, behind the eyes There's no need to hide We're safe tonight (What) And the meanings that get left behind All the feelings, broken with time We're all different behind the eyes We may need to hide And the meanings that get left behind All the innocents lost at one time Significance, between the lines There's no need to hide

This song has stuck with me for awhile. The lyrics are the pure concept of a simple definition of life that yields a greater purpose. Poetry of the meaning of life, "I am mine". The follow up needs to be "I accept that you are your own". Keep trying, yearning, and most of all improving both yours and mine.

this band is incredible! they fought through the hard times without breaking up, they didn't break up after they got booed back in '03, some bands might have done so, but not PJ! they were traumatized by roskilde, which was a horrible tragedy, but did that put an end to their career? almost, but nope! they hated going mainstream, but they knew that was what was going to happen either way, and they knew had to deal with it and stop worrying about it, and that's what they did, this band cannot be beat!

Billy Corgan said that SP and Nirvana were ground breaking bands that changed music, but Pearl Jam wasn't. For as much as I respect Billy and his musicianship there is something more real in this music.
@christopherbriscoe33088 жыл бұрын
I thinkThe Smashing Pumpkins made more groundbreaking music when it came to sound. I just think Pearl Jam's music has more power to affect people's emotions, because there is more humanity in it.

Funny, I didn't think you were supposed to tell everyone else how you and/or your band "changed music". It like a nickname... someone ELSE needs to say it.
@delboy38598 жыл бұрын
Funny how artists are if your too popular you must suck! Eddie even hated they became so popular so fast because it made it seem they were writing for the masses instead of just hitting the right chord of how we felt! Love Pearl Jam and loved the Pumpkins and Nirvana too and don't get me started on stone temple pilots, sound garden and how much the 90's music scene kicked ass!

My Ex looks just like him too. My connection to Eddie is beyond anything physical. As I didnt know what he looked like for years. Funny thing is that in High School he lived 20 mins away and attended a different school..same grade, same age. If my family did not move away my sophomore year.. i know I would have met him through our Vocal class groups or our Musical Theater geek friends. Perhaps at the beach or a party just when he sings Baba O Reilly ( teenage wasteland) and I freak out because I love the Who as well. (Who doesnt in San Diego) I start chiming in singing just as loudly, because its our an Anthem back then, so relatable. I would run into him as the Surf rat I thought I would be in S.D. Throughout it All. We became Best Friends for Life. Oh for circumstances and shifted timelines.

I Am Mine Pearl Jam The selfish, they're all standing in line Faithing and hoping to buy themselves time Me, I figure as each breath goes by I only own my mind North is to south what the clock is to time There's east and there's west and there's everywhere life I know I was born and I know that I'll die The in between is mine I am mine And the feeling it gets left behind All the innocence lost at one time Significant behind the eyes There's no need to hide We're safe tonight The ocean is full 'cause everyone's crying The full moon is looking for friends at high tide The sorrow grows bigger when the sorrow's denied I only know my mind I am mine And the meaning it gets left behind All the innocence lost at one time Significance between the eyes There's no need to hide We're safe tonight What And the feelings that gets left behind All the innocent broken with lies Significance, between the lines (We may need to hide) And the meanings that get left behind All the innocents lost at one time We're all different behind the eyes There's no need to hide
