What were all those dreams we shared those many years ago? What were all those plans we made now left beside the road? Behind us in the road More than friends, I always pledged cause friends they come and go People change, as does everything I wanted to grow old I just want to grow old Slide up next to me I'm just a human being I will take the blame But just the same this is not me You see? Believe... I'm better than this Don't leave me so cold I'm buried beneath the stones I just want to hold on I know I'm worth your love Enough... I don't think there's such a thing It's my fault now Having caught a sickness in my bones How it pains to leave you here With the kids on your own Just don't let me go Help me see myself cause I can no longer tell Looking out from the inside of the bottom of a well It's hell... I yell... But no one hears before I disappear whisper in my ear Give me something to echo in my unknown future's ear My dear... The end comes near... I'm here... But not much longer.
@MrGatsby80113 жыл бұрын
This was the song I listened to the day my mother died of Breast Cancer. The words "Just want to grow old" kept echoing in my head. Eddie Vedder knows how to crawl in to someone's emotions and pluck their strings. "Help me see myself! Because I can no longer tell... " This was my mother's conscious and unconscious state. "Before I disappear, my dear the end comes near. I'm Here! But not much longer!" I guess I just miss my mother today.

3 and a half years I've been running after her and have been failing miserably then all of a sudden KZbin algorithm leads me to this. Have wept like a madman over this song. I just want to hold on and know I'm worth your love ❤️

That's why I'm so absolutely in love with music. It has the ability to express words that don't even exist. I've found that whenever I'm overwhelmed by emotions that I can't convey to my friends or family, it's easier to just pick up my guitar and get lost in the notes and chords. It's ethereal and cathartic, and the closest we mortals have to being gods...

As a Pearl Jam fan from the beginning, I find myself going back to past albums and rediscovering songs like this after I haven’t heard them in a while. The album version is great but man... Eddie Vedder and an acoustic guitar live?? Wow! Unreal. I so hope they come to Pittsburgh, PA for this current tour. Somehow! Some way!! PJ fan forever!

Fuori di classe!!! Eddie Vedder, sicuramente,e' uno dei cantanti piu' profondi di nostro tempo! io basto con dire che questo e' un lavoro supremo, come sempre di Eddie e Pearl Jam. Grazie, grazie! --------------------- Out of this world! Eddie Vedder, surely, is one of the most profound singers of our time! I can stop by saying that this is a supreme piece of work, like always, from Eddie and Pearl Jam. Thanks!

Great job capturing this perfectly imperfect moment in time. What an amazing song! Eddie Vedder is simply an amazing man and gives me hope for men in this world of religious & corrupt patriarchy societies. I was at their next concert in Vancouver 3 days later. Blew me away - I had great expectations and they warped them out of our galaxy!! Namaste
