This song seems to be deeply rooted with people who have lost a loved one, particularly to cancer. It's heartbreaking to read of all the loss but it's beautiful we can all be bonded by such a beautiful work of art.

My son played this beautiful song on his guitar all the time, when I heard it on the radio recently, I googled it and realised how cryptic it was for him. He took his life just over 2 years ago, I cry every time I listen to it on his headphones on Sunday nights. I miss him so much.

You just perfectly brought a visual to a feeling in your heart..That's beautiful, we're able to create an image for others to understand us a little more as a whole..There's nothing more important than sharing those experiences with others..That's how we become human again..It's what separates us from animals..I love life a little more and more when I see things like this..Thank you so much for sharing..It could very well have been the difference in someone's life or death.

I've listened to this beautiful song for many years. After my husband passed 15.5 years ago. Now it is an amazing memory tune. And as time goes on, I find myslf searching for it each time I learn something new especially after some harrowing experience life throws at me. It gives me hope and faith to just keep on going. The words encourage to continue on the journey path and someday will get my forever ever lasting. Thank you.

When this song was released my father was dying in the hospital. It played on the radio all the time. It seemed that every time I drove to or from the hospital I heard Just Breathe. It gave me so much comfort. And now, even though my 91 year old father never heard of Pearl Jam in his life, I remember my dad and all the wonderful things about him when I hear this song. Thanks so much for writing it. It will be 6 years January 27th. Bye Dad, I love you.

I lost my son last year. Pearl Jam was his favorite bad of all time. He even named his dog Eddie. I bought every Pearl Jam concert ticket ever when they came to Vancouver, B.C. for him. This song just nails it and he loved it. One year on Xmas day he was down stairs and I ran downstairs and told him Pearl Jam was on TV playing live. He bolted upstairs and to his surprise Eddie wasn't on TV but there was a new Fender Telecaster and Fender amp sitting in front of the TV. He didn't even notice it at 1st he was too busy looking for Pearl Jam. True story. I miss my son :(

This song was playing on the radio constantly when my father was in the hospital dying. Every time I got in the car to drive to or from the hospital, it was playing and so, when we released my father's ashes, we played it then too. Now, whenever I hear this song, it is a bittersweet memory of my father. It also is so heartening to read these comments and know that so many other people have connected to this song in similar ways. Thank you, Pearl Jam, for giving us such a beautiful way to remember our loved ones.

Whenever my dog was sick or not feeling well I would play this song and he would just lay on me and sleep and to me that was the most beautiful thing in the world. Since 22 of February 2021 when he passed away I cannot listen to this song without ugly crying and remember how peaceful he was when he slept on me and how much he loved me. RIP Thunder. Man, I am glad that I did not succeeded with that. Bro, we should just appreciate all the things and people. Today I smile with a tear in my eye about some things in the past. It's sad, that it's over, but I feel very happy, that I was able to experience these times. Bless you!

@@matteomarasco8655 It's one of the few songs that can express the desire to make a loved one return... I'm glad you could also find some consolation in this song, it's rough losing a friend and the sorrow really leaves scars, no matter how much time passes.

I just love the ending with the F-chord, because it leaves the song opened in some way, like he just wanted to outline that the story continues with that.

Touching and beautiful song. Makes me feeling like crying and I don't now for who and why. It's just life that comes out and moves with all its human essence out of this song with its warm acoustic guitar's sound, talking of some hidden losses to me.

I am with you all that has lost a parent/sibling/significant other and find solice in this amazing piece of music........Because of this song, people from all races, genders and classes come together in the act of sharing our grief. Isnt it beautiful or what huh?! We must though, remind ourselves of the living....the ones our deceased beloved worked so hard to care for, in order to leave the world in a better place than they left it. We live in a world today so divided, disconnected, self destructive and cruel. Spread the love that your beloved gave you...... Let optemism and faith that those before us taught us to guide you today and tomorrow. You grieve just like your neighbour grieves. You hurt just as your neighbour hurts We love just as our neighbour does. We are all one. As I grieve for my dad, I send a loving hug to you as you grieve your own.

Hi guys. I really feel for those who have been touched by death or suicide and this song reminds them. I have tried to kill myself a few times. I have an eight year old daughter. I hope I don’t try again. I remember coming across a post that said ‘it’s ok if all you do today is just breathe.’ Pearl Jam is like coming home for me. I wouldn’t have stayed alive and sane without music.
