Incredible how a man stands in front of a packed Madison Square Garden...arms crossed in front of a mic...sings absolutely gibberish and has the whole crowd by his side...and you sit here watch this...getting goosebumps allover.

If you can’t understand it listen to a clearer version. This is one of the clearest times I’ve heard yellow Ledbetter be played I understand every word, if you played the studio version, ironically it’s a bit harder to understand every single word but you make out w the just of the story. This is one of the greatest performances ever imo

Nixon Harp Nixon Harp I believe the lyrics when the song originally released were part gibberish, part sensible. Over the years they evolved/devolved and he sings random things. This version in particular sounds like a story about a young man going off to war and his brother & father saying they're not sure if they'll see him again... "I worry, he's coming home in a box or a bag." (coffin or body bag?)

I spent so much time listening to this song on repeat because I really wanted to be able to sing along with the 'correct' lyrics. Foolish me!!! I now know there are NO correct lyrics and that it is just complete go with the flow/feeling type of song. I will say I am proud of the fact that I know exactly ONE VERSION of this song by heart. Indeed, music has a powerful way of evoking emotions and connecting with listeners on a deep level. "Yellow Ledbetter" by Pearl Jam is often praised for its emotional impact. The combination of Eddie Vedder's distinctive vocals, the atmospheric guitar work by Mike McCready, and the introspective lyrics can create a poignant and heartfelt experience for many listeners. Music has a unique ability to resonate with individuals in different ways, allowing them to connect with the song's mood, lyrics, or personal associations. It's wonderful that "Yellow Ledbetter" holds such meaning for you and evokes strong emotions when you hear it.

Lyrics: On a ceiling, on a wayside manner say Don't hear to ever fill the answer again On a wayside, on a front side letter said That I'll never see my brother alive again And I try to ameliorate, ohh And I hit on but the memory keeps dragging on me down And I wonder 'bout the reasons he was sent He's comin' he's comin' home in a box or a bag Chorus: Yeah can you see them, Out on the porch? Yeah, But they don't wave I see them 'round the front way, yeah And I know, and I know I don't wanna stay Only in see them my heart to wish it on a way And I try then I though then I could have left a message oh I almost did Talk to my dad he was worse than me A progress Marie's son's comin' over in a box or a bag Chorus: Yea can you see them Out on the porch? Yea, but they don't wave I see them 'round the front way, yeah And I know, and I know I don't wanna stay at all I don't wanna stay I'd like to stay I wanna stay guns off oh chzaa ooh oh oh oh oooooh oh oooh oh oh oh yea

I know all the words. But then my husband says I am a mumbler too. Maybe we just have our own language lol. I love this performance of Yellow Ledbetter. Mike's solo is epic. Eddie looks pretty good to me with his short hair. And he still has the same gorgeous smile and mannerisms. Just an over all good performance by Eddie and Pearl Jam 👏👏💞💞
