Same here, man. The finishes on the Masterworks kits are gorgeous, and they’ll do any finish as long as you give them a sample. Looking for a sonic reason to switch, though, because these don’t sound much better than my Starclassics, and I haven’t heard anything more enticing than the Star Bubinga and Star Walnut

What do you guys use to record the sound? How many mics? Where are they positioned? Is the audio compressed and eq'd?

We use two overhead microphones and two room microphones, no eq....
