United States Air Force Emergency Medicine Physician
CSTARS Instructor
University of Maryland Associate Faculty
Currently, an Air Force Emergency Medicine physician assigned to the University of Maryland as a CSTARS instructor. Started my career as an Air Force Pararescueman, where I became a paramedic.
Decided to change direction in 2009 after several deployments and become a physician. Graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor in Molecular and Cellular Biology, attended the University of Minnesota Medical School, and completed my residency at Wright State University in Dayton OH. Currently the acting medical director for the Baltimore County SWAT team. Have kept my paramedic license all along the way and will always have a passion and respect for EMS.
Objective:
Case series highlighting the finer points of resuscitation by EMS providers. All cases are real cases taken from around the country. We will go through 9 cases covering: trauma, cardiology, respiratory, neurology, and toxicology. Some cases were done right and some were done wrong, but each case highlights the critical action items all EMS providers need to consider.
