John M. Dunford M.D. is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesia and a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurology. Dr. Dunford has practiced Medicine for over 30 years and currently works as a Neuroanesthesiologist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Review of the prehospital management of Seizures with emphasis of The Maryland Medical Protocols for Emergency Medical Services Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services protocols for treatment of seizures.

1. Describe the etiology of seizures
2. Explain the types of seizures
3. Describe how to recognize status epilepticus
4. Learn from videos to recognize seizure types
5. Describe the difference between epileptic seizures and movements of non-epileptic origin
6. Describe the techniques and medications used in the pre-hospital management of seizures
