Neurobiology of Trauma

Evelyn graduated from Villa Julie College with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She began her nursing career, 24 years ago, at R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, but most of her nursing career was spent working the night shift in a Baltimore city emergency room. Currently, Evelyn is certified as a pediatric and adolescent/adult forensic nurse examiner (FNE). She has been working as a forensic nurse examiner since 2011. She teaches the Forensic Evaluation of Gunshot Wounds, the Neurobiology of Trauma, Forensic Photography, Injury Interpretation, Child Physical Abuse, and Human Sex Trafficking. Evelyn is a member of Child Abuse for Medical Professionals with the University of Maryland hospital. She is a member of the Sexual Assault Response Team with Baltimore County and is a member of the Human Trafficking Work Group. Evelyn is an expert witness in sexual assault for Baltimore County and Baltimore City. She is also an expert witness in the Neurobiology of Trauma for Frederick County. Evelyn has testified in over eleven trials during her career as a forensic nurse. She was named Baltimore's Best nurse in Baltimore magazine in 2017. She received the Certificate of Excellence in 2020 and was awarded the Art of Nursing's - Nurse Clinician of the Year Award in 2022. Retired in 2023.
