Get the coyote scatter shield, cut the transmission side off at the weld in a lathe. Weld on appropriate size plate to accept torque tube bolt pattern. It needs clocked and square. The coyote bellhousing would also get your starter the right clearance.
@Alex-pl1ye3 күн бұрын
Either that or start with a billet block that’s finished and get them to cut the bolt pattern to a torque tube that’s the most expensive option but most legit

Coyote in the GT500 Fairmont's coyote in the ZR1 Trinity in the Fairmont LS9 in a turd gen Camaro, or a G body Malibu so it matches the Fairmont. Two mid size 2 door cars (last muscle cars) with the top trim engines available from both camps. That garage line up would be the head scratcher of all head scratchers.

I have a small hobby type machine shop. Love to make things and would do it for free. Just need a drawing and material. I can source material locally. Like brackets and adapters Tex… Could probably make a 1/2” spacer if we have all the dimensions but I don’t think that is what you want. I do not have the capability to make a bell housing. You tuned my GT500 in Carlisle when you worked for VMP.

WHY THE COYOTE SWAP IS A TERRIBLE IDEA & WHAT YOU SHOULD DO: The engine block fitting is only the most basic and trivial of considerations. Plus, you don’t know it fits you only know the block fits - but will the hood close even? Will the final motor assembly rub or be unserviceable? How difficult will exhaust be? Etc. But never mind those issues even because - even if you get the trans to bolt up and dry slump mated and 10 other assumptions in your favor - yr still stuck with the major problem that prevents all kinds of these swaps from being feasible: Can the engine and it’s required computer systems be integrated to the corvettes necessary computer systems that operates the GM trans, oiling, suspension, fuel system, gauges, and untold other modules in the car? And the answer is NO, not without both Ford and GM funding a million-dollar project, waiving tons of proprietary data, dedicating untold numbers of resources and expertise to figure it out - only then is this feasible. You will spend so much money and time and wasted effort just to realize these are both ill-advised ideas. The corvette is not the like the computer-less Fairmont - it’s not even the GT500 as that is Ford modular based. It’s a whole ‘nother MFer. Here’s the truth: You blew the engines - take the Ls and move on. Fix the corvette and Shelby - give them to a broker to sell so they don’t carry yr story baggage - surprise yr audience one day and say the cars were sold bc you got an offer you couldn’t turn down and what yr buying next. Otherwise, yr just going to hack up these cars and their remaining value - throwing away good money, time and effort and I guarantee more than you expect - to feed yr cope that you broke two expensive cars and that it will cost you.

I'm gonna guess you didnt watch the stream at all. 1 it fits fine he bolted up the most important space needed items, heads, timing cover, oil pan ect. 2. He's going to run the Ford control pack for the ecm. 3. Bolting a motor to an existing system is not that hard. It's mainly the angles, mounts ect 4. Suspension? The motor is lighter than an ls9. So if anything it's lightening the front slightly. 5. Fuel system. Fore innovations probably mounts in relatively same places with a little bit of work. 6. Gauges he can run separate gauges off of the Ford control pack. Or a digital dash. 7. Exhaust? Tell me you never modded anything. Stock headers, cut the flanges off weld new flanges on or slip fit the x pipe done. Easy. 8. I'm gonna just say by the way you are spewing bs you've never worked on a modded modern day car at all. For context Justin Taylor pawlik got a 2jz to work in his blown up former drift mustang. I'm sure that was just as hard.

@Marcus0073 күн бұрын
@@hatch450sx3 1. He did not put the entire engine in with exhaust - he put in a model of the block. Those are not the same thing. 2. The Ford control pack can run the engine but not the remainder of the necessary modules in the corvette. And the corvette computer can’t run the Ford engine. Yet the build needs both to operate together. This is the problem of the build and what you and Alex fail to understand. 3. Bolting the engine to the chassis or torque tube are not the basis of my skepticism. 4. The ZR1 has computer-controlled dampeners, it has nothing to do with the weight. 5. Alex has stated the fuel system will be for a corvette so it will not be controllable by the ford ecu unless it is ford parts customized to fit into the corvette. 6. Separate gauges in a late model car is a hack. 7. You don’t know stock headers will fit. You don’t know if there will be sufficient room to customize headers with the crank centerline where it needs to be to fit the torque tube. 8. I’ve been customizing cars for almost 40 years - what are you 25 years old? Check your arrogance. You obviously have no idea how complicated and incompatible with each other modern automotive computer systems are. If this were so easy you would see tons of cars with engines of other manufacturers - yet you never see it with late model stuff unless the chassis has been stripped of all it's original electronics. You don’t know what yr talking about and that will be clear when Alex either backs off the project or has to admit it’s a debacle or it produces a worthless ZR1 hack job. It will never turn out to be a sorted ZR1 with all the original ZR! electronics with a coyote engine. Wait and watch
@hatch450sx33 күн бұрын
@@Marcus007 no I'm not 25 years old. I'm 40. Ive been modding cars for a long time as well. Owned a BMW 2jz, rb20240sx, vh45swap s13 and more. The dampeners for the suspension should be controlled by the body module. Not the ecm. As long as everything is lined up and the headers fit which he mentioned in the video modding the exhaust is easy. Custom coyote parts for fuel system like what? You use everything set up for the coyote use a Chevy pump and Chevy lines maybe you might have to get a few longer or shorter lines but fuel flow is fuel flow. The pressure regulator really controls what goes into the rails. I know it's a challenge but a lot of the hardest stuff like crank line have already been hashed out. As long as he can make the motor sit level where it needs to sit it's not that much of an issue. He may have to give the bcm it's own power and ground to allow those modules to power up on the Chevy side. But he already said he doesnt care if everything works as it's just going to be to see if it can be done anyway. If it runs and drives he's already won. Later if he decides to he can hunt down the other issues in electronics.

The bellhousing shouldn't be much of an issue. Probably be easiest to use a coyote/modular steel blow proof and fit the torque tube to the back of the scatter shield. It shouldn't be to hard to drill and tap or even weld the back to match the torque tube bolt pattern.

My man. I’ve been watching you since the original YOLO days. You gotta figure your channel out sir. Your videos are too long, you need an editor, it’s hard to watch your videos and that’s why your channel doesn’t grow. Get an editor and condense your videos down to 10 minutes or less so they are watchable. And don’t swap a coyote into a zr1 my man come on. Put an LS into that thing or you will alienate your whole audience. No GM guy wants to see a coyote swap in an zr1 and no coyote guy wants to see their ‘god motor’ in a GM platform. You should know enough to get it done by now, not ask your audience what you should do.
