Wow! Awesome to see a few videos from you on this little gem. I bought my first guitar and amp(Peavey Audition20) back in 1984 and to this very day, I have both and they're still in great condition. I used the Audition 20 for the first 5 years and then decided to go with a tube amp for a warmer sound. This little amp is built like a tank and can take a lot of abuse. Basically, I took it everywhere, from the public transit, rehearsals, churches, basements, and garage jams. It served me well for the first 5 years until it was replaced by a bigger tube amp. It was in storage for about 31 years until I took it out from storage a few weeks ago to give it a twirl. The pots needed some cleaning as there was this crunchy-static sound coming from the turn of the knobs. Gave it some contact cleaner, a good vacuuming session and wipe down and presto, she's like new again. Because of the small size and durability, I have started to use it again when I'm practicing at home. I'm quite surprised it's output is only 12 watts. I thought all these years, it was more since it was so loud. I had no problems using it with my drummer and Bass player back in the late 80s. The 8 inch speaker was able to belt out the tones with no problems or break up of sound. Was able to find the original operation guide last night. Good to know you are also from Ontario. My father worked in North Bay when he was a teenager in the 50s.

thanks for the post Kev, she screamed with my Squire Tele back in the day, 30 years later, she still screams with my PRS, Epi, Vintage S-type and various single cut copies, the bloody thing is indestructible!

in mint condition you could pay from 20.00 to 100.00 tops anyone asking more then 100.00 is ripping you off even on this amp

I see back at that time you had a large amount of pedals. You miss using pedals over from using effects processors?
@KevinMillard68 Жыл бұрын
the pedlas were nice but the processors are way better more compact and its simple to just program them to the song you want and way cheaper then pedlels to.
@Jeffp0000 Жыл бұрын
@@KevinMillard68 Totally agree. I like the effects processor best bang for the buck.

$20 bucks!!! I got mine for $35... The guy in the store HATED IT!!! I asked why it was so cheap, and he said (in disgust...) " 'cause it's aaahh PEEE-VEEEE! " Anyways, I just got it out of storage... I am interested in the "Negative Feedback Circuit" in this thing... Is there one? It's solid state, so maybe not... IMHO

I just recently got a audition 20 amp for cheap but I'm wondering what do you think is the best knob settings/set up for metal/rock.
@KevinMillard682 жыл бұрын
the ones you like thats how you do it there is not math behind it you just dial in the sound your after if that fails then you buy pedals
