My sister sent this to me without a manual. I tell you. NOT giving me the manual is the best thing that happened to me with this amp. Had a great time playing with the settings. The sound's not just for metal. I use it for more indie rock kind of style. \m/

@AlexShadow111 The mic is connected to a preamp first - Art Tube MP. It's good enough for one mic recordings. Then the preamp is connected to Behringers usb audio interface UCA202, because I don't have a proper soundcard.

@AlexShadow111 No problem at all! Even though this doesn't need phantom power (dynamic), it's good to have a preamp or mixer to get the levels sorted. :)

great sound!

Tip. Add reverb and delay in post. That way you can adjust them later if they don't sit well.

@FlyingPiranha92 I use mainly the 6505. Sometimes I use Diezel setting for low gain distortion and for clean guitars I use mainly XXX clean channel. There are so many settings, I haven't even explored them all yet. All the clean amps have a little different approach and so on. I can't use all propely though, because the 15watt version doesn't have all effects built-in. 30 watt would have. It has few nice pedals, you know. Anyway, I needed much Eq for this clip, not anything hard though.

@hjalmarBuoi Well, I intially planned to change the guitar like two years ago but decided not to as this guitar performs pretty well after some improvements. The vintage tremolo has been taken off, so the guitar stays much better in tune + everything is adjusted propely, and yes, I have a seymour duncan humbucker on the bridge. It was about 80 euros when I bought it, can't remember correctly which one it actually was. A suprisingly good guitar.

@AlexShadow111 Yeah, if it suits your need I would definately recommend this mic. It's basically a "copy" of Shure's SM58. Sounds even better though, only 20hz less bottom end, which doesn't mean anything in guitar amp recordings. The price is low, but quality isn't. It's a really good microphone. With one dynamic mic, you can't get much better sounds. I compared this to the shure, no difference. Just needs some eq and good placement (center in this clip). Remember other gear too, preamp etc. :)

only for the rage-down sound i will take it but in the 75 version

@MetalDeadification Definately... It would be about as good as shure sm57 or shure sm58. There is very little difference, and the quality in Behringer is good. I would recommend, it's cheap as well.

@metal4ever1997 Well, if you're using a dynamic mic like xm8500, then you can plug it alone into the amp for sure. Condenser microphones on the other hand need phantom power, and they won't work with just the vypyr. I'm not sure how good the aux input is, I would guess it is pretty bad for a mic without a minimixer / preamp (or even a DI box or something) which help you to control the mic level. So if you want guitars & vocals at the same time, you need some adapters and a minimixer for example.

@skygge666 You mean the grill on top? I have took it off often when recording amps. It is not the most important thing soundwise, but gives a bit clearer sound. If I remember right, this was recorded without it... Last thing I did with the mic was recording my bass amp, and along with lineout signal it sounds fantastic.

Ok, I am new to vocals and I am looking at buying this mic, but I know almost nothing about microphones . I also play guitar, and I have a Vyper 75W. Would I be able to sing through my amp ? Please reply :)
@Mancerion13 жыл бұрын
@hjalmarBuoi You should definitely get a better guitar. The other option is to adjust the stuff right and get a better bridge mic. The original is OK for a cheap-ass-stuff but really, really lousy compared to the Duncan. This is for sure going to be my 2nd guitar when I have enough money and determination to buy a bit better one. The biggest let-down on this is 22 frets.

@hjalmarBuoi Yes, definitely not over 100 dollar/euro mics on this one. It's just a waste! Yeah there are many good guitars in mid range. I would never buy a real gibson because of the price.
