This is how I do it: I record a total of 4 takes in Logic and shooting videos from different angles. Then I end up using the best two takes for the audio and use all 4 camera angles. Makes sense?

Maybe people should check out what Ola does to each model as the default settings are loaded... Less treble, more mid, less gain. That's the key to better tone... Moderation.

I have the 30W model. Very good for the value, if you know how to set it up you're looking a one of the best modelling amps out there in the market. The clean channel is superb when I play with a modified strat with Lace Sensors. Distortion is what gets this amp a 9/10 overall in my opinion. Tubescream combined with JSX or XXX and you're rocking.

I have the 75w version of this. Every time I get it in me to get a new amp I cant justify it. It's outstanding considering how much you get for the money. It nails most tones at 80-95% accuracy. If anyone is wondering about getting this as a practice amp then this is pretty much the best one I've played.

@Fearedse I had this amp for a long while... I'm an experienced player, I also have my high end amplifier... I know how to set up a good tone... Anyways, what i'm getting at... this demo is a PERFECT example of how great this amp sounds. Mine sounds almost identical in recordings as this one does. It does a REALLY good job at emulating the the characteristics of a tube amplifier. I loved that amp, and once again, this demo is a PERFECT example of how good it sounds.

These amps are amazing. I own a Vypyr 30w and 120w 2x12 tube. Of course there is always room for evolving your tone. But, I found a tone I'm happy with on the Vypyr. I don't even want an Axe-Fx anymore either because of how good of a tone you can get out of these amps. It also can "djent" very well. Hopefully, they do an adaptation in the future, making the Vypyr a cheaper multi-effects processor version of the Axe-Fx.

Jackson Sullivan It is still nothing that ''fancy/expensive''. The microphone is a shure sm57 of $90 or $100 bucks. You can use it with any audio interface (m-audio) even with the ones of $80,$90 bucks with just 1 instrument input. and then panning left and right. But It is still something ''extra'' that you have to buy ir order to get this sound.

I have this amp the key with the high gain amps is. More mids, pull out some of the highs n blend in the lows with less gain. It does sound good at low volume a know issue is rattles at higher volumes so if u can aim for volumes between 1-3 n add a nosie gate to clean up unwanted buzzing . Even a modern amp will have issues an if it's under 200 there could b a list of 'issues'. If u can find one local buy it an remember how you EQ one amp Sim might not work for the next one u try. Just try what I said . More metal!🎸

Because of the fact, that I had this amp in my mind buying in those days, I looked for that one in EBAY. And what can I say, I was not disappointed. (I should have bought this amp in first place. It really sounds awesome till I got "defanged" it and got rid of all these disturbing resonances. I have to say I love this amp for what it is and couldn't, even nowadays, imagine any better amp in the practice range, except a boss Katana - but this would be more expensive. Love it - and I still love your videos Ola. Greetings from Germany nearby "Thomann".

for me: i dont care how the amp "naturally" sounds. I will hear what is POSSIBLE with it, and Ola yust show you examples of possibilitys of the amps. And i think Ola is awesom in recording, he knows exactly what to do to make it sound like this. Sure, he uses sure sm57 which changes the "naturally" sound a little bit, than he uses EQ and also adding a 2nd track for more powerful sound. Even from what I've seen in ads and catalogs the 8 watt tube amps cost ~$800. Ridiculous. And, you just said modeling amps were crap. Not "cheap modeling amps" but "modeling amps". That's it. I have the 15w version tha Ola's using in the video and I've got to say the thing is not only brutally loud(I play mine at about 0.7 on the master volume knob lol) but the tone each setting has is incredibly hard to beat and just for the price but in general. I will say while over 50% of the amp models sound really good their not very accurate, probably slightly accurate to mediocre, again though that's just the amp to amp comparison not the tone, like i said the tone and power are just raw! lol

Why the hate? It's a $100 practice amp! What the hell do people expect? It's not going to sound like a $1000+ tube amp but it sounds incredibly good for the price. Even if it were heavily processed (which Ola has already said it isn't) that can be done with inexpensive software now too making it more affordable than ever to produce great music. My first amp was a Peavey rage $100 new in 1980-something (yes, I'm old) and it didn't do anything as cool as a Vypyr 15. Less hating more playing!

He has been clever mic-ing the outter part of the cone, delivers more bass less fizzness from that small cone. :)

There's all of that, plus a lot of people don't understand how different a guitar/amp sounds out of the context of a band scenario or mixed recording. This video does both. I don't know what the hell this guy is complaining about, you get to hear it by itself and you get to hear it double-tracked (a world of difference) and with bass and drums. If anything it should be encouraging that "budget" gear sounds so good these days. I see videos like this as a good way to build consumer confidence.

It's called pickups, mic, mic placement, pickups, technique. It also clearly states no post EQ too.

Literally the only bad thing about this is the cable jack. Every thing else I dearly love, especially that Rectifier simulation.

I own the line 6 spider 4 15 and I almost regret getting it now... lol this sounds a bit better I think and it isn't much more money than the line 6

I can get some awesome tones out of mine, also. I have the 15 and 30 and am very happy with what I get from them. I can get tones that sound as good as what you're getting on this demo, so I know this is no B.S. Now if i could just play as well as you do.

Yes, Peavey's TransTube overdrive technology. Which, if you've every owned a TransTube Bandit or other, you'd already know its incredible solid state distortion. Its part of the reason why I wasn't interested in the tube version of the Vypyr, considering TransTube works well enough for much less.

Yeah there's no question about it. Get a Vypyr if your playing in the bedroom. At bedroom volumes it will probably sound better anyways sine the tube amps don't sound great until you really crank them... LOUD! I wet the 30watt vypyr if you ever plan to jam with a drummer.

For the price tag its better than the fender alternatives. I'd get on of the bigger models though.
