I absolutely LOVE this product! I used the 150 in the plastic jars--Porcelaine 150. I had ordered a hand painted tile mural that went wrong with the artist. The colors were not what I had expected. Anyway, I found this product and went over some of the colors to get closer to what I had wanted. Mainly, I wanted to get rid of the browns. NOT an easy color to "go over". I baked the repainted tiles in my oven, held my breath and was so thrilled with the results. "Color Me Mine" also allowed me to use their paints and kiln, but the paint did not hold. The 150 did!! Wow!! Was I thrilled!!

@GardensOfUtopia Yes! you may use Pebeo Porcelaine 150 or Vitrea 160 paints on polymer clay. 30 minutes at 265 degrees F is fine for setting the paint on the clay. Since it won't go into a dishwasher, it will be plenty durable for use on decorative pieces of art. We are aware of quite a few professional polymer artists who are using these paints in this manner. Thanks for the inquiry and enjoy!

@ladymistreschristine Yes, these paints can be applied to any heat-stable surface -porcelain, crockery, terra-cotta, metals, ceramics, glass, etc. Fire them in a home oven at 300°F for 30 minutes for a finish that's as permanent as baked enamel.

Yes - the porcelain paint would be the right choice for you. Make sure not to paint around the rim of the mug or the inside - it is best to use the paint on the areas where you or drinks will not be in direct contact.

@ladymistreschristine Yes, if the directions were followed properly for application, the paint is safe on the top rack of the dishwasher. This information should be on the label of the Pebeo Porcelain 150. You can also find more information on the Blick Art Materials web page which is linked in the informaiton fo rthis video.

Hi, great video. I tried to find how to use the paints on terracotta and bisque but cannot find anywhere that will tell me how long to dry the bisque after coating with the filler nor if it needs to be repainted with the colors before baking or if it needs two baking sessions for the filler coat and the colors coat.

Hi, I have recently purchased these paints and am slightly nervous about putting a glass bottle in the oven. I have a regular wine bottle to paint on but am unsure whether it is safe or not to put in the oven. Is there any way on knowing what kind of glass is okay to use? And am I okay to put this bottle in the microwave?

Do these paints emit any toxic or dangerous fumes when they are being used or when the decorated piece is placed in the oven, please?

These are a water based, non-toxic paint. No toxic or dangerous fumes are emitted during the painting process or baking process. You may notice a slight smell, but it will be similar to an acrylic paint.

If you made a painting mistake, is it easy to rub off the paint from the porcelain cup?
@Blick_Art
@Blick_Art 9 жыл бұрын
Heather Q. Agoncillo Hi Heather! As long as the paint is not completely dried and it is applied to a nonporous (glazed) surface, it can be wiped off with a wet towel. If the paint has dried but not been baked, you can likely remove the paint by saturating the area with rubbing alcohol and scraping the paint off. If it has been baked, the paint is permanent and cannot easily be removed. If you would like additional assistance, please feel welcome to contact our Product Information team at 1-800-933-2542

Hello, I'm trying to figure out how well they would hold up on tiles in a shower. Would the constant moisture be an issue? Thanks!
@Blick_Art
@Blick_Art 9 жыл бұрын
Lina J Once the tiles have been fired, they will withstand dishwashing. However, constant exposure to water and humidity, and harsher cleaning chemicals will be detrimental to the paint. For any additional questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com. Thanks!

hello. can you do repeated painting and firings on one piece ?
@Blick_Art
@Blick_Art 7 жыл бұрын
+Becky Martinez The Porcelaine paint should only be baked twice at the most. If you want to add layers or create a piecewith a lot of thin layers, paint the layers allowing it to dry between coats and then bake the piece once when all of the painting is finished.

Hi!what brush should I use to paint a monochromatic plate so that it turns out uniform?
@Blick_Art
@Blick_Art Жыл бұрын
If you want uniform, flat coverage, you may be able to use a small, fine mini-roller to achieve a flat of color, but a soft, flat watercolor-type brush may give you the effect you want while consuming less paint. Hope this helps! www.dickblick.com/categories/painting/tools/paint-rollers/

Hi, I just bought these porcelain paints but screwed up a piece badly. I have applied the paint so thinck i cannot seem to get it off with alcohol. A friend told me to fire it again in the kiln for all paint to burn off. Is this really possible? Please let me know, I woudl tremendously appreciate since I care a lot for this piece. What cone or temperature shoudl I fire the piece to for all paint to burn off without even leaving any residue inside the pitts and holes making up the design of the piece? Thanks again - Ashley Theobald
@Blick_Art
@Blick_Art 8 жыл бұрын
+Asli Cetinel These paints should not be fired in a true kiln. Yes, they may burn off, but they could also leave scorch marks or discolorations. This would not be a good method to “remove” the paint. Instead, we would recommend sanding off the area you are not satisfied with and then repainting that space. If you have additional questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com. Thanks!

@Blick_Art

You may also find that using the Undercoat White helps keep the colors brighter and more vivid. If you have additional questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com. Thanks!

I am looking for a paint that can be used to repaint porcelain dolls after the factory paint has been removed. Can this paint be used on unglazed porcelain? Does it work well with a dry brush technique? Does the paint hold up well to multiple firings to enable layering of paint?
@Blick_Art
@Blick_Art 9 жыл бұрын
lornaduwn The Pebeo Porcelaine Paints can be applied to unglazed porcelain and will work with a dry brush technique. These paints should be baked in an oven, not fired in a kiln. The manufacturer does not recommend baking the paint more than twice. For any additional questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com.

@Blick_Art

I like this paint as well. I have customers that i do glasses for and they used daily and in a dishwasher, lasted well over a year, busy with a repeat order now. I cut a vinyl mask and paint inside it, im not an artist to produce nice free hand stuff. anyway i have a problem when doing this. I cannot get a consistent smooth even finish and also get bubbles pit holes specially if i thin it out a bit, i dont shake it. and if i go over it u can see it. Can anyone give me tips how to get smooth even finish i can be proud of, mu customers love what i done but i feel if i want to sell them i have to do better to expect a decent price for them. I would appreciate some feed back in this problem to make better quality finished products, I'm out of ideas but know there is a way. Thanks. matthew
