That would be so cool to make it look like the earth. With that ripple effect, it would be awesome!

Your pendants turned out lovely, very cool effect. I was going to buy those pebeo paints but did not have any idea how to use them, but now I know, well at least where to start, so thank you for the inspiration.

I was driving when I got this video notification and immediately pulled over to watch and comment. I LOVE Pebeo paint; I snapped up the entire stock when it was all clearanced at Michaels last spring. I’m so happy that you did this video! Thank you!!

I've been working with pebeo and epoxy resin. I can confirm that it is heat that causes the pebeo to wrinkle. The same will happen if you use heat to degass epoxy.

Nice! I agree about the heat. I've had that happen with my eyes in the oven.

I tried to recreate the ripple effect using pebeo prisme paints on a cabochon and then putting UV resin on top. I then cured it in the sun instead of under a UV light, but it did not make ripples like yours did. I used Blue Moon UV resin, so it is a different brand. I actually wanted the ripples and was disappointed that it didn’t work, lol. Just wanted to share the results of my experimenting!

@kimkinsella72456 жыл бұрын
I bet you could do a great Van Gogh sunflowers pendant with that marbling/rippling effect.
@ligaskirbauska86525 жыл бұрын
I think it’s because uv resin when cures shrinks and pulls upper layer of paint,creating ripple effects

It takes 72 hours for Pebeo paint to dry to the core. If you wait for it to be completely dry, it might not do that.

Hi Yvonne you can get the uv resin a lot cheaper on Ali Express and you should look into getting a LED nail light, it's better for your exposure to uv and the resin cures in half the time.

I got a uv light for doing toenails- it’s wider and a 4” x 4” tile fits nicely 🦆

It's too bad these paints are very hard to find now. I know this video is kind of old but do you have any idea what to mix in with the paints when they are dried up? Just asking what you use.
@jameswitte51676 жыл бұрын
Wonder what effects you could get using toothpick to apply paint instead of big ice cream stick ... Or maybe paint and let dry one paint color then apply rest ... I love ALL your cabs and dragon eyes ... Especially the 10mm and anything 40mm+ ... Don't forget to take a vid ( or do a live) from Dragon Con
@erinwood49684 жыл бұрын
PLEASE READ 😉: I believe I might know why it has that rippled look after drying. I followed your Amazon link to these paints and after reading quite a bit of info, I read that these paints will give different effects when dry. As an example, the bottle you used that says ‘onyx’, also calls it ‘Fantasy’, the effect that ‘fantasy’ gives when dry is a honeycomb, rippled design. So it may have nothing to do with the heat from UV dryer.
@jessicaford83992 жыл бұрын
I work with these on an almost daily basis and heat causes the Pebeo Fantasy to get a "skin" across the tip and wrinkles. Let them dry naturally for 72 hrs before putting anything on top. After that you can do any sort of glaze or resin.

Im trying to verify if the UV sellers on Amazon have the resin that doesn't test on animals. I initially asked if they were cruelty free, but I'm not sure they totally understood that. They said they were cruelty free, but yanno.

Hi Yvonne! I was wondering if you have an email or something that I could contact you with for advice about jewelry making (or is that one of the perks on your Patreon?) I have questions about certain metals for head and eye pins and jump rings, since most of mine (which are silver in color) tend to tarnish or turn a coppery color. It’s disheartening because I’ve bought so many head and eye pins, jump rings, chains, and I don’t want to have to replace them all, but I don’t want to use them if they’re just going to turn brown either! If you don’t offer advice, that’s totally fine, I just thought I’d ask! Love your work ♥️
@KellyNsGrotto6 жыл бұрын
muggle394 she has mentioned spraying the metal so it won't do that. I'm brain farting on the product used, but don't worry, someone will clear that up for both of us shortly.
@starcatcatherinehale18936 жыл бұрын
She tries her hardest to answer everyone's questions but it's a lot of people, plus with creating, selling, filming, editing, etc......… and Randy lol, she's a busy woman. It is best to catch her on her livestreams for questions, every Tuesday and Thursday at 2:00 pm (be sure to subscribe and hit the bell to get notifications), also when you ask something it's best to put @Yvonne Williams before the question so it highlights it for her to see. Her livestream can get kinda chatty and she can only see three lines of it at a time, since she streams on her phone. Well, after all that (sorry it sounds a bit like a commercial lol) if you're still with me, she and I as well use PYM II (Preserve Your Memories 2) on metals of questionable make. It's awesome stuff, great for sealing and protecting just about any craft. I'd recommend a light coat before creating and one or two after. I use it on jewelry for my sister as she it highly sensitive to all metals. Hope that helps 💙
@muggle3946 жыл бұрын
Starcat Catherine Hale I just looked PYM 2 up online, it’s really difficult to find a seller (something about the original owners retiring?) and I was wondering if you’ve tried any similar acrylic sealants and what the difference is? I’m wondering if there might be an alternative that I could buy at Michael’s or something. I’m open to ordering PYM 2 if other sealants just aren’t as good, but if I can buy something from a craft store down the street that achieves the same end, I’d rather do that haha. Thank you so much for your help ♥️
@starcatcatherinehale18936 жыл бұрын
Well, honestly I think PYM II is the best option because you can use it to protect just about any craft project, I even use it on my drawings. Yet there are more products out there that work fairly well but they are more task specific, like Alchemy Jewelry Sealer, it's a tarnish protector and an anti-allergy spray. It's mainly for preventing skin discoloration and metal allergies. Krylon makes a few different clear coats that will work very well as a sealer and they are the least expensive option. Then there is a sealer called ProtectaClear (all one word), that works fairly well for metal jewelry or just about any metal really. The only thing about all those is, if possible cover any gems, crystals, beads, stones, or whatever when spaying or do a pre-test for any reaction or filming from them. Just follow directions about ventilation and drying times, plus remember, a few light coats is always better than a thick one when it comes to sealing things. I haven't had trouble getting PYM II yet but maybe I should stock up lol. Hope that helps 💙⭐
