Just bought the ES-5 a month ago and it's an amazing unit! My tone is a lot clearer and I can finally put my tap-dancing shoes away:)

I love the control you can get with switchers and midi. Takes a little bit to get the hang of it when learning but after that, you become the best fx plumber on the block. Great video once again. Cheers dudes.

That first preset sounds like a pedal steel ala Robert Randolph. Need to hear more of that!!!

Also using a switcher means a lot less wear and tear on your pedals, especially if you have vintage ones

Absolutely...I didn't even think about that!! Thanks Tom

Even with them ( essentially ) Always On? ( whether in-or-out of the Loop ) ? I'm trying to understand this?

When the gig rig v2 came out it blew my mind with being able to switch pedal order on the fly. Of course I don't have one but I would really like to get my hands on the es8 or es5. They both seem like excellent products

They are really good...and I'm not saying this because we did this video with Boss/Roland Australia...I bought the ES8 you see in this video a few years ago - after they first came out and I bought it because it kinda blew my mind...so much stuff you can do with it...especially the MIDI side of things...

@@TSFAHTPS I think the best part to me is being able to hit one button and get a completely different selection of preset tones via midi. I recently bought a strymon volante and have been enjoying all the different delay types I can get. I bought a used boss rv 500 two days ago and am awaiting for it to arrive in the mail. I know the best solution in the future to get the most out of these pedals along with the amp channel switching ability is to get the Es5. I have sold all of my dirt pedals since purchasing a Victory V30. But I still use a compressor, deja vibe, and prince of tone as a boost. I am genuinely excited about the Es5/8. Technology over the last 5 years especially has been extremely impressive in the guitar world. 10 years from now.......who knows.

Interesting vid guys, Es5 user and es8 former user(it shit the bed just out of warranty 😡) didn’t stop my buying an es5 as they are brilliant units especially as ye were saying with midi pedals.

Can you loop some pedals through an effects loop on your 5150 ?

I now have to be able to swap pedal order, so it is essential to me

Its great isn't it?? I LOVE the parallel options on this...really different sounds

The SuperFunAwesomeHappyTime Pedal Show! I love being able to like just switch order AND have parallel routing. Changed how i write music. Like, Reverb on top of delay//phaser. Just so much incredible stuff you can do if you let tech work FOR you

So having a switcher is making your rig like a multieffects but in an analog way?
@NoCoverCharge5 жыл бұрын
Great video I need a switcher I think

Can this change my amp channel also with overdrive pedal from dirty to clean?
@TSFAHTPS5 жыл бұрын
The ES-5 & ES-8 can switch your amp channels...if you have a normal jack style plug or Midi switching on your amp
@MrMojo7775 жыл бұрын
Great video thanks!! does this boss unit allow for direct out to front of amp and an effects loop out for your mod effects to run through if you wanted that set up ? like a Friedman buffer bay output design ??

Hi. Thanks for the video. Maybe you can help me with a few questions. I'm a guitar player and singer in a portuguese band. As i sing and play at the same time it's very uncomfortable to be tapdancing. Some years ago i bought a Mooer L6 switcher. For the price i can't really complaint about it (the main problem is this kind of delay when you press the buttons, the sound kind of fades in). I've been using it to control my modulation pedals live, but i want to be able to control all pedals (dis, drive, boost, etc). This happens because i use my modulation in the fx loop of the amp and the other pedals in the front inside of the BOSS NS2 loop. My question is if using the boss es 8 four cable method feature i can route the pedals i want to the front and to the fx loop "separating" them but still using in the same loop system. Other thing i would like to know is how the boss NS2 loop would work in a foot switcher, i mean how can i still be using the noise surpressor loop or how can i use it still using a switcher. As i'm thinking of switching to another switcher, i would like to ask some of good choices for me besides the ES-8. What exact foot switchers can i use to route pedals to the fx loop and to the front of the pedal. Thank you.

When you play live, don't you need to also adjust the individual pedals knobs on the fly?
@bacicinvatteneaca3 жыл бұрын
Yes. Unless you make them all midi-operated.

You can also assign an LED on / off to that new midi whammy switch. Have an ES-8 'and'' and ES-5. However, there's a new kid on the block..........Morningstar. I realize this vid is 4 years old though. Having said that, the Boss midi/pedal switchers are still relevant.
