How cute!! He's really going to be a cool addition to the group! I was a little worried if he and the other babies would mesh well in the start but he's so gentle and defensive I'm not so worried anymore. Its sweet that he tries to make himself little so they won't be scared of him. But no matter how close they all end up being I'll never forget how the whole pasture was just blown away when he first got out of the trailer! 😂🤣😂 They All froze in place and stood there with their mouths open like What Is That?

He’s so adorable Jamie I can’t get over how fast he has adjusted to life there on the sanctuary. Carl had us all a nervous wreak but all the stories about them are probably true but the ostrich hasn’t been tamed. It’s. Pretty obvious that Carl is somewhat tamed and not a wild ostrich. So glad he’s eating and drinking water. Carl let’s you put medicine on that’s just great. 👍🏽 nice video love y’all ❤️

Have you thought of attaching one of the feeding dishes to the top of the post where you gave him the worms? That way the food wouldnt fall out as he grabbed it. I came across a channel last week called the Ostrich Whisperer. This woman was cuddling one of her ostriches. Its neck was right up against her neck and it had its eyes closed. Such a tender moment. I could see you doing that. One can only hope that could be possible for Carl in the future. I so enjoy all the videos.

I've suggested the food bin on the fence as well, even a water bucket so that the ducks wouldn't make it dirty. Hopefully they will get one soon for his snacks and such

This is fascinating watching as you feed Carl. I am impressed as some of the goats entered his area, they gave him the one on one time with you instead of bombarding you like they sometimes do. I think with practice, Carl will feed off the fence post…and will become daintier in his approach to getting the food off of it.

His last home has made him gentle as well. You still never know what any of the animals will do but I guess he figured out that those Littles live here and that they aren’t threats to him. That’s what farming does. Anything is scary though. Luckily he’s a good boy.

Carl is so aware . Was he raised with people around him because he seems more relaxed than the ones who are with other ostriches like in the ostrich farms. My son help a friend who worked on one and they could be quiet nasty. It’s a lot different than raising just one. He has beautiful Eyes and such long eyelashes. I am surprised at how quickly he has settled in. He is adorable 🥰.
