The local Pizza Hut my family took me to to redeem my Book-It rewards had one of these. I was always mesmerized by the demo screen. It had the boss from Stage 12, which I thought was the coolest looking one. Never got to play tho. Mom and Pop weren’t keen on forking over quarters to play games.

I can imagine that first boss being a $5 boss for most. I think a good percentage of player would give up after the first 2min of that fight. Just subbed btw, thanks for all the awesome playthroughs.

This was perhaps the strangest stage 1 boss I have ever seen in a video game. Every other boss in the game goes down pretty quick whereas this thing is nearly indestructible. It almost seems like a programming error or something is off. Also thanks for the sub!

I played it when I was a teenager and I loved it when playing it with a friend in 2 player simultaneous mode. Obviously in a real arcade machine you hadn't autofire and the only way to defeat bosses was 'buttoning' as fast as possible until you got your fingers ached. If you try to play it without autofire the game is not as easy and the experience is more real and enjoyable. But this is my humble opinion, of course.

It’s hilarious that they can’t spell ‘architecture’ on an official game. This is what makes these small team, limited budget releases so charming.

What a pity this wasn't made for home consoles.

It might be a generic shmup, but that Boss BGM is awesome enough to give a full run of the game. Btw what version of Mame do you use? Older Mames emulated wrong the pitch/speed of the soundtracks.
@PEG2 жыл бұрын
Most are done with ShmupMAME 4.2

this game is not emulated correctly; on real pcb there are boss timers.
@PEG2 жыл бұрын
That's good to know. Seemed like a pretty sad oversight to me but I guess it's just busted emulation. Any idea if it's fixed in newer versions of mame?

I never played this game before! I should emulate it with MAME!
@Peter_Morris2 жыл бұрын
Yup. Every bit as generic as I remember it. Only now I can hear the music!
@PEG2 жыл бұрын
Yup, sure is. I blame you for making me play this!

I wish I could remember remember what was in between this game and Twin Eagle: Revenge Joe’s Brother. But I DO remember what was in the corner past Moon Patrol. It was Rabio Lepus. Man, for a Putt-Putt arcade they sure had a high percentage of shooters.
Ok so I just played this for the first time and saw from another vid where someone killed the first boss quickly by just tapping the shot, and yea after doing some tests myself that at least in emulation, if the 1st boss takes damage too quickly after it's first instance of damage, it will not lose health for some reason until a brief window after it has stop being hit. Rinse and repeat for each time it loses health one time, so if you revisit the thing and carefully count and tap shots, it takes 20 shots of blue to kill it, then I did 20 bursts of autofire and it died exactly on the 20th. I'm not familiar enough with this at all beyond seeing that time overs don't work in emulation correctly, but it would be nice to see if someone out there can verify this happens on a real board as well.

That's so weird, I guess it's some sort of anti autofire system or something they put in?
@Emuser0129 ай бұрын
@@PEG maybe? As best as I could find there was another instance in the past of someone asking why this boss seemed to have an anti fire thing going on, but I can’t suppose it was on purpose because nobody would think of something that cryptic and nonsensical

@Emuser012 very strange how this odd behavior only seems to apply to the weird first boss. Such a bizarre game in general.
