One of 10cc members, Graham Gouldman, was already a highly succesfull songwriter in the 60s with huge hits: the Yardbirds had a huge hit with For Your Love, Bus Stop for the Hollies and No Milk Today for Herman’s Hermits. He eventually teamed with the 3 other guys to form 10cc. Two of them, Godley and Creme, would leave after a few albums to embark on a career as a duo and eventually wound up becoming vanguard video producers making some of the more unique music videos of the 80s like Girls On Film (Duran Duran), Rockit (Herbie Hancock), Two Tribes (Frankie Goes To Hollywood), When We Was Fab (George Harrison) and the video for their own song Cry.

The song is about a singer who lies to himself about being in love. The song was written by Eric Stewart in response to his wife, Gloria, telling him that he didn't say "I love you" often enough: "I'm Not in Love" is a song by British group 10cc, written by band members Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman. It is known for its innovative and distinctive backing track, composed mostly of the band's multitracked vocals. Released in the UK in May 1975 as the second single from the band's third album, The Original Soundtrack, it became the second of the group's three number-one singles in the UK between 1973 and 1978, topping the UK Singles Chart for two weeks. "I'm Not in Love" became the band's breakthrough hit outside the United Kingdom, topping the charts in Canada and Ireland as well as peaking within the top 10 of the charts in several other countries, including Australia, West Germany, New Zealand, Norway and the United States.

Original 10c line up were Eric Stewart (lead vocal on this song), Graham Gouldman, Lol Creme, Kevin Godley. They were friends and originally formed to test the new studio being build (Strawberry Studios). The member would audition each other to decide who would take lead vocals on a song, Some other tracks are: Rubber Bullets, Donna, Things We do for Love, Dreadlock Holiday, Life is a Minestrone. Eventually Godley and Creme left to pursue there own interest which included making music video for other artists (such as The Police, Kate Bush, Duran Duran, Herbie Hancock. George Harrison to name a few), they also recorded tracks as Godley and Creme: Cry, Wedding Bells, Under Your Thumb among many others

10 cubic centimetres. Don't ask :) British band, from Manchester. This was recorded before computer recording technology was a thing - all done with analogue tapes. The production was groundbreaking and like a glimpse of the future back in the 1970s when it came out. There's a youtube video on how this was made that is well worth a look. And yes, he's in strong denial. The band split in two not long after this song, with two members (Eric Stewart - the lead singer here - and Graham Gouldman) writing poppier songs, and the other two (Kevin Godley and Lol Creme) exploring more experimental music and eventually becoming pioneering video producers.

This whole song is produced using sampled voices of the band the Ahhh part is 48 voices for each note of the scale. They created tape loops to keep the note going. The "Be Quiet.
