@@user-EricWatson55 it actually annoyed me so i had to look it up " drummer Rick Allen has taken to Twitter to set the record straight. "It was actually (producer) Mutt Lange who came up with that," Allen said via a video posted to the band's official account. "He was getting so tired of saying '1,2,3,4' whenever we counted in. He wanted to inject a bit of humor in there." As for the specific language, Allen says that it was also Lange's creation. "I guess 'Gunter gleiben glauchen globen' is some Germanic-sounding language. I wouldn't put it past Mutt because he actually speaks Dutch." Regardless of the words' meaning, the phrase was instantly catchy. "When it came to mixing the song, everybody decided that we wanted to keep the count on there."

A great parent-kid date night! That's the one great thing about being an 80's teenager...The younger generation LOVES our music and are up for a concert or to just hang out and enjoy an impromptu family dance party while making dinner! ❤

That reminds of taking my nephew to see Slayer for his 18th birthday. He'd never really been to a real concert, my husband I were already going, and we figured it was the perfect opportunity. He had a blast, and we made great memories. He got in the mosh pit with these bright red shoes, and came back missing one. 😂 When the crowd cleared out at the end, we went looking for it. Someone took it home as a souvenir, cuz it was nowhere to be found.

So there's a backstory to the drummer. Pete Parada has Guillain-Barre syndrome, a rare autoimmune disorder where your immune system attacks your nervous system and causes difficulty breathing, and can be life threatening. He had had multiple bouts with it, and because Guillain-Barre was a common side effect of the jab, he asked his doctor. He had had covid already and his doctor told him that it wasn't worth the risk because each G-B outbreak is worse than the last one. Dexter kicked him out of the band saying he was "dangerous to be around" because he was not jabbed even though his own ACTUAL doctor disagreed.

The Offspring didn't target anyone in particular with this song, but they did call out hip hop artists with Original Prankster. Not with the song itself, but it was (featuring Redman). The only lyric Redman had on the song was "original prankster, original yeah", which was calling out hip hop artists who had a famous "feature" on their track, which was basically just a one line backing vocal (an example is Let Me Blow Ya Mind by Eve, featuring Gwen Stefani, who just did the chorus).

I don't think it's complicated at all. I think they just had a knack for hitting their sound on the bullseye and it also just that palatable. I mean you're smiling for ear to ear listening to this. And in all different tones whether it's in jest like this or melancholy like in Gone Away. They just nail the sound every time and people's ears like it.

The Offspring's song "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" is about young men who try to act like they're from Compton, but are actually from places like Omaha, Nebraska. The song is a critique of poseurs and wannabe gangsters who buy gangsta rap clothes and act like they're from somewhere else. The song's message is that it's fake and obvious when people try to have an identity they don't actually have. Dexter Holland, the lead singer of The Offspring, says he was inspired to write the song after seeing a white kid in Orange County who was trying to be something he wasn't. Holland says he wanted to write a song that high schoolers would recognize and enjoy, and that would also make fun of people who don't know they're being made fun of. "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" was the first single from The Offspring's fifth studio album, Americana. It became the band's only number one song in the
