This is a true story. Ronnie Dunn, the singer for this song, was in seminary school and Mr Wrigley was his neighbor growing up. He left seminary school shortly after Mr Wrigley's death. I don't think he has ever performed this in concert, because it's so personal. Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn were put together by a record company and have many hits in the 90's and 2000's.

Appreciate the genuinely heartfelt reaction. Ronnie Dunn was considering the ministry and attended a Baptist college in TX, but he and his wife moved to Nashville to give music a try. Johnny and June Carter Cash helped them some asJune was a friend of Ronnie's wife, but Ronnie persisted and did the hard work in songwriting and performing. He met Kix Brooks at the studio where they wrote songs and got placed together. Greatest duo in country music history.

They are (I think) the most decorated and awarded duo in Country music ever. Ronnie wrote this, inspired by a friendship he had with an older man when he was a kid, who lived down the street from Ronnie's family. They do both sing, but Ronnie has such a great voice. They have a ton of hits.
