If you want to see a crowd you should watch them sing this song in Rio. A sea of people you cant see the end of. The whole crowd sings this song to him and they all chant Brian, Brian, Brian when they know his guitar solo is coming. Definitely worth the watch. Watching that one makes you know why Freddie is said to be the best front man in history. His crowd control is amazing. With the move of his hand he has the whole crowd doing anything he wants and that is one big crowd.. over a quarter of a million people there. Just look up Love of my Life Rock in Rio.

A few fun facts about Queen: * Guitarist Sir Brian May (The man with the curly hair....!) has a Ph.D. in Astrophysics and built his electric guitar (Red Special) when he was 17 (with his dad). * Bassist John Deacon has a degree in electronics. He designed and built the amp that Brian sometimes uses to create unique sounds on Red Special. John was also involved in the band’s financial management. * Drummer Roger Taylor has a degree in biology (pre-med). His vocal range is better than most lead singers of other groups. * Lead singer Freddie Mercury has a degree in graphic design. It goes without saying that his vocal range was amazing and he was the best front man of any band. * All four have written #1 hits, and all are members of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

I was lucky to witness this magical moment of Queen's live shows four times, in 1980, twice in 1982 (so either side of this 1981 performance). Then again in 1984. Great crowd singalong in the days when fans shut up and listened to a band, sang at the top of their voices when they were meant to - like in this song - not singing loudly all the time, every lyric of every song, all the way through, like they do now. Best version of this song on the Queen live double album, Live Killers from 1979. Queen at their live best 1979-1982. They were also the biggest band in the world, sales and attendances wise, 1980-1981.

I have to tell you BP, that you’re still only scratching the surface of how great a band Queen was. So great in fact, that while all the songs you’ve listened to so far are some of their biggest hits, their best songs never even charted or had limited air play. I’m going to mention some with the premise the Queensters will jump in and provide others. I’d do it myself but I’m at work and I’m a one finger typer and it’s starting to hurt🤣. “Liar”, “Brighton Rock”, “Doing Alright”, “Great King Rat”, “Ogre Battle”, “Father to Son”, “The March of the Black Queen”, “Now I’m Here”, “White Man”, “The Prophet’s Song”, “Sheer Heart Attack” and “It’s Late”. Freddie Mercury wrote several songs that were inspired by his relationship with Mary Austin, who was a significant figure in his life. The most notable songs include: "Love of My Life" - This ballad from Queen's album A Night at the Opera (1975) expresses deep affection and longing, often interpreted as a tribute to Mary. "You're My Best Friend" - Co-written by Mercury and Queen's guitarist Brian May, this song from the album A Night at the Opera is often thought to reflect Mercury's close friendship and emotional bond with Mary. "The Night Comes Down" - While not directly about Mary, this song from Queen II (1974) contains themes of love and longing that can be associated with his feelings for her. "Dear Friends" - This track from the album Queen II is a gentle and heartfelt reflection on friendship, which can also be linked to Mercury’s feelings for Mary. Freddie often referred to Mary as his common-law wife, and their relationship deeply influenced his music and lyrics throughout his career.

This was from a whole concert that Queen did Live in Montreal with their best live rendition of Somebody to Love. You might want to check that out if you haven't already. Freddie starts out clothed and throughout the concert takes off more and more clothes. By the end he is just wearing short shorts and nothing else, not even shoes and socks. Lucky for us it was all filmed in HD. By the way, Brian and Roger could both be lead singers on their own if they wanted. I’ll give you some background info on Queen. Queen is comprised of Freddie Mercury, lead vocalist and plays piano and occasional guitar. He has a 4 octave vocal range. Received a diploma in graphic design and created the band’s logo. He passed away in 1991 and is considered by many to be the best frontman ever. Dr. Sir Brian May is the lead guitarist and sings. He also plays piano and harp. He has a Ph D in Astrophysics and has an IQ north of 180. He has worked on several projects for NASA. He and his father made the guitar he plays (referred to as the Red Special) out of things they had around the house when Brian was 16. The neck is made from 100 year old fireplace mantle (hand carved), the body made from an oak table and the tremolo bar made from bike parts and his mother’s knitting needle. 60 years later and he still uses that guitar. Brian was knighted 2 years ago. John Deacon is the Bassist and also plays drums, guitar, piano, double Bass. He graduated with High honors degree in Engineering and made an amp out of an old speaker cabinet and things he found in the trash. It’s called the Deacy Amp and he gave it to Brian to use which allows Brian’s guitar to sound like different orchestral instruments. Brian tried to have another one made but no one can duplicate the sounds the Deacy Amp can make. John looked after the band’s finances. Roger Taylor is the drummer and can play guitar and keyboards as well. He has a 😅3 1/2 octave vocal range and he has a high falsetto earning him the nickname, the dog whistle. He went to school to become a dentist and got bored so he got a degree in Biology. These are 4 talented and smart men who were perfectionists. All 4 wrote number 1 hits and all 4 were inducted into the songwriter’s hall of fame, a feat very few bands, if any besides Queen accomplished.

Maybe consider "Death on two legs", "Bicycle Race", or "Mustapha" from Queen. Solo Freddie is worth checking out

I really hope you react to Adam Lambert, who's been singing for Queen for the past 10 years with original members Brian May on guitar and Roger Taylor on drums. I would suggest reacting to Adam Lambert Kennedy Honors Cher performing "Believe" and Adam Lambert + Queen performing "Who Wants to Live Forever" live.

Of all of the astrophysicists active in the 1970's rock scene, Brian May represents 100% of them..... Freddy frequently performed shirtless... not unusual for him at all.

Wondering if that was his girl. Not sure if he was with her at the time, but that was the love of his life. I believe she was there when he died. RIP Freddie. Hoping you get justice soon through RFK.
