Thanks for doing this BP. Agree with everything. As man and father he also promised in "Not Afraid". "Till I Collapse" is one of my favorites to sing. I grew up loving Eazy, so Eminem never offended me. Music is art, and I agree, doesn't mean you have to agree with them. Eminem opened my eyes as a pre-teen. Eyes to what was even going on around me. My brother and I broke the cycle. We're so happy Eminem did, too. Can't help but think his music helped us a bit too.

thank you for sharing this, this side of Eminem what always made me a big fan of him, underneath all crazy lyrics and personas he's genuinely a good human being, my dad was always in my life but never felt like i have a dad, he always told us how he hated the responsibility, i get emotional sometimes when i meet someone in my life and as simple as they just tell me don't worry I'll take care of this thing cuz i never felt that i never felt like i can be stress free i never felt like i wasn't alone and my dad didn't go addiction or poverty but he did have the same type of father that he is right now, he didn't break the cycle it's truly underrated to seew where Eminem is at right now, he went through poverty, fatherless home, problems with his mom, failed marriage, losing his friend and addiction and overdose and HE MADE IT he overcame it all he never left his daughter behind, he never failed her and i truly wish people would take inspiration from that Thank You again from making this full cycle video

He was also bullied his entire childhood bc he was white in a black school and neighborhood or I should say schools bc he attended different schools every 3 months bc they would get evicted from their houses. He was beaten by a bully into a coma for 10 days and suffered from seizures for a long time after. He had to relearn how to walk and talk and dress himself and then that bully tried to sue him for a million dollars in like 2002 bc he said his name in a song😂 The judge threw the case out but the funniest part is the judge wrote the verdict in a rap

I really encourage doing a deep dive through Eminem’s work! 😊 Over the last few years, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for him. What he’s accomplished as an artist and as a human being, despite his difficult start to life, is remarkable. From his earliest stuff to the most recent, he’s repeatedly shown a high level of introspection and emotional intelligence. (Then there’s the crazy Slim Shady stuff, but that’s a different story. 🤪 He’s diverse. 😂) He was huge when I was in high school, and I always enjoyed his more popular songs that got a lot of radio/video play, but just never bothered to buy and listen to any whole albums. His Super Bowl appearance a few years ago got me all nostalgic and prompted the deep dive through his catalogue, and led to a lot of incidental learning about various details of his life story. Despite being abandoned by his father, growing up in poverty with a mentally ill mother, being bullied/beaten as a kid, dropping out of high school, experiencing sudden fame, trying to navigate his complicated/toxic relationship with Kim, and spiraling out of control following his best friend’s death to the point of overdosing and nearly dying…he grew into a solid father figure for many people in his life and has come out on the bright side. He got his younger half brother out of the foster care system and raised him, raised Hailie up to be an intelligent and well-adjusted young lady, and raised his ex’s niece and child from another relationship as if they were his own. He’s been sober for over 1 1/2 decades. And he’s grown as an artist, even if a lot of his more recent stuff has had less commercial appeal. In the same/similar vein of this reaction, I would recommend checking out “When I’m Gone,” “Beautiful,” “Walk on Water,” “Castle”/“Arose” (two tracks back-to-back that really are a package deal and basically one song), “Headlights,” and “Leaving Heaven.” They may not be the most commercially appealing songs, may not have his most intricate flows or rhyme schemes, etc…but they reveal his more emotional/vulnerable side. For what I consider maybe his absolute best work, check out his feature on Yelawolf’s song “Best Friend.” Em showed all out on that one. It’s both deeply emotional/personal (speaks of his late best friend, Proof), and it’s incredibly dense/intricate in flow patterns, rhyme schemes, word play, and themes (religious/Biblical, violence/death). You could absolutely write a thesis on how that verse epitomizes what rap can be as an art form.

Love Mockingbird ❤️ being a Daddy's girl myself, always tickled me on the last line " Don't Fuck with Dad" 😆 I always thought, through his lyrics, he was a great Dad. Seeing Hailie now I'm so pleased that was true. All of us parents make mistakes, telling porkies if any think they haven't, then hopefully learning from them and changing for the better. I dont have to tell you you're blessed with your 2 girls, Dad has always (to me) been my number 1 man, when I found out he was called Dave at aged 3ish I named all of my dolls and teddies "Dave" 😆 Bought me a tortoise and asked what I would like to call it? "Dave" 😆 in other words to Daughters (lucky ones I mean, as I know not sadly it isn't the same for all 💔) Dad's are just the best 🥰🥰

He also raised Whitney, who now goes by Stevie. She is Kim's daughter, whom she had with drug dealer, who served time then died by OD, when she and Em were split. He legally adopted her and raised her as his own. Kim went on to have a son with someone else right after she and Em divorced.

Even Eminem himself hates some of the things he's released, but he keeps trying to better no matter what, the guy keeps pushing, that to me and his lyricism is what makes him the GOAT in my opinion.
