Ren never gave Jenny’s age, just Screech’s. After you know they’re twins, it makes you think about Jenny’s life, a fourteen year old girl out at night, walking streets that she’s walked a thousand times before, and wanting to escape. Screech saying he’d cut the rosy off her cheeks, also implies wearing makeup, which she would do to make herself look older, and having to be a prostitute to survive. It wasn’t only Screech that had a rough start in life.

The censorship changes everything for me. I used to live for BP Ren roller coasters but this is not the same. I want to point out that BP said the word bitch after censoring it out of the song! Especially taking it so far to censor words that aren’t even curse words. Having said that I still appreciate BP and all his hard work. A truly terrific channel and G is a special young man. Lastly I have to say that people getting up in arms about smiling, jamming, or appreciating the thrill of Rens delivery and talent is really misplaced. The horror of the story is aptly tempered by how clever and funny Ren is when describing Jenny clocked out like Big Ben or the Violet beating. Those who are offended at the smiles and laughs better never listen to Slim Shady.

@jakobbrauer91219 ай бұрын
@@thegingermenace8593 Chill. If you want to drop him that's fine but complaining about his "thug friends" seems a bit hypocritical when you try to stand up for a song that is all about the cycle of violence and how bad circumstances can influence people. Afaik, BP and some of his friends grew up in circumstances that could have made a screech out of them and here they are having fun making a harmless podcast, representing the subculture they grew up with and committing the crime of making a bad decision when it comes to censoring (probably in an attempt to appeal to a wider audience). Real thugs they are. One more thing, as a pale white boy from Germany I'm certainly not an expert on this but a white woman screaming "thug" at some black rappers for using swear words is a bit too 1990s South West for my taste.
@thegingermenace85939 ай бұрын
@@jakobbrauer9121 Do you even know where he got the idea for those songs? A newspaper that had that story in it. You can't fault a guy who thought he's dying. Robert Houston II (BP) is the one who is disingenuous and a hypocrite, besides the fact that BP has been playing it for a year now, showing "Hi Ren" to his family & friends and getting a reaction, he promotes his "lovely" friends who swear and cuss. He is from the southwest. Not me. Go defend someone who deserves it. 👏 Nice try though, Mr. Germany!
@emdiar65889 ай бұрын
The worst part of all is that he repeatedly claims to be some kind of rebel, bragging about not wearing a mask or getting vaccinated, and even claims to identify with RATM's 'Killing in the Name Of...'. Maybe if the words were "Fuck you, I won't do what ya tell me, unless you insist... wait, don't demonetize me, please. I'll be good I promise", then I could see his point. He fronts like he's Hip Hop, but really he's like a prudish Victorian lady , chiselling off the genitalia from classical Greek and Roman sculptures in the name of decency, like he knows better than the artist. It's the act of an artless philistine to deface someone else's art.
@jakobbrauer91219 ай бұрын
@@thegingermenace8593 @thegingermenace8593 Now you are just rambling. I know where Ren had the song idea from but I don't see any connection to this discussion. I also don't know why you bring up Rens illness. Maybe you need some kind of justifcation for him using swear words but this is a "you problem". When BP is censoring swear words he is trying to appease to a spefic American culture thing, nowhere else in the western world grown up adults care about swear words. In the next sentece you are claiming he is hypocritical but you don't explain how. He is promoting Ren and he promotes his friends, in both cases because he loves them and because they help with his podcast, how is this hypocritical? You seem to have the impression that censoring the song is somehow an attack on Ren, which is ridiculous. BP clearly has no problem with swearing in his private life (at least in a lot of circumstances) and no problem with Ren swearing. He is just trying to do something here (which I don't like but also don't get offended about like you). Probably he tries to appease to the YT algorithm, or appeal to a greater audience or something like that. Now, the last thing let's me seriously doubt your text apprehension skills. I didn't claim you are from the southwest and I don't have anything agaist the southwest in general, I said you are displaying a type of casual racism that was very common in 90s southwest. Btw. I'm not a fan of BP. I have a lot of problems with his political positions and the censoring in this video WAS laughable. It's just that I find your reaction to it even more laughable.

Censoring the song shreds your credibility as a reaction artist because it says: I know this resction will get lots of views but the profanity affects monetization, so if I cut the profanity I make more money. You didnt just edit profanity, you edited out controversial things like "dead" and other words that are all part of Ren's art that you are coat-tailing on. So you are telling everyone your desire for monetization is more important than the art of the artist whom you are using to get the views to make the money in the first place. Many super-talented artists stay little, have a small audience, get little attention, etc. Because all superstars are made by the media. Fans usually don't even realize that those artists were imposed on them by the hype, the high share of voice of mentioning them, and frequently playing the material of their favorite artist. Also very often the superstar is a product of a large creative collaboration team. I am not saying that the stars are not talented, I am saying that there are more talented artists than stars and media investment makes the difference. Ren is a prodigy, he has a unique voice and catalog and also uses new and creative ways to promote himself.

If we are going to censor the word devil I hope the next song that has the word god in it gets censored as well. I'm sure it's out of pressure from KZbin but it's interesting if the aim is to make content acceptable for a younger audience that out of all the violence being done to Violet at the end of Violet's tale only the words fuck and slut are deemed unacceptable but the overall story of her getting beaten to death is still ok? Not hating it's just always odd in American culture that any type of violence is always ok but words and anything intimate or revealing is a line that can't be crossed.

I’m assuming that the censoring is to do with being de-monetised.

*I wanna just quick tap in on the question and answer if the story is based on a true story, *yes and no * basically he saw 2 or 3 different stories in the news paper, and decided to make the 2 or 3 different stories one.

Love BP, but this censoring is terrible. I know he says "watch the original if you want to hear the song", but I don't understand how he doesn't understand what an annoying experience it is. Reactions to this trilogy are some of my favorites, and BP reactions are some of my favorites, both of which compound the frustration. From what I understand he only does it with this song, which makes me wonder why he cares so much to censor. I would think he could risk demonetization for one song/video among hundreds. My guess is that they don't even demonetize all reactions to it, only a couple of instances. And yes, we all know they are reacting to the uncensored song, but it completely takes away from the experience. I would think BP could risk demonetization for one song to keep the integrity of the art. It's disappointing.

13:58 - ooops, Ren never said they were both 14. Giving it away early? LOL. He only said Screech was 14.

Love this young man's reactions and enjoyment/appreciation of the music and writing. His joy is infectious. However, I can't get behind the censorship.

Great video as always BP. My only niggle would be, the blurring out of words. I dont think any artist should be censored for the words theu use. Especially to this extent. Its very off putting.

Was Ren wearing Cowboys gear or a Starter jacket? They are similar and he wears a lot of Starter gear.

I got to agree with a lot of people’s comments, censoring great “ART” is not what we come to your channel for BP

Why cutting some words off the tracks ? How can someone be possibly be more offended by the words than hit by the content ? I really don't undestand this american censorship tendancy....

KZbin monetization. These videos are for money at the end of the day. I dont know all the rules but i know if u allow any cuss words in like the first 2 minites u get demonatized etc. Maybe other reasons too but yeah. He didnt use to so in guessing its about the benjamins.
