Love your reactions!!! Tyler’s radio got stolen While in college, so it’s a true story. The head shaving took place at real concert, and he got whole crowd to sit still for the explosive moment. His crowd control is amazing(see lane boy video). Also, as you can imagine, this song live at their concerts is TOTALLY AMAZING!!!. You’re correct about inner thoughts and having to deal with them. Cool part when he says, “sometimes quiet is violent” his mouth doesn’t move!!! Guns for hands or holding onto you or Ode to sleep(all from same album as Car Radio, Vessel, and all deal with deeper mental issues and even taking our own lives) if not those, then Lane Boy will leave you asking yourself WTF kind of genre is this, but in such a cool way it takes shots at the whole music industry as a whole but it’s so epic.. enjoy the music bro, we’re here for it as well

The Mask is the most important part of the video. Even as famous as he is and as big as the band is, those dark thoughts exist and creep in constantly, and he has to put on a mask to hide them when going out on stage for his fans in a big sold out venue. Another temporary escape, just like listening to the radio in your car vs. sitting in that silence and facing the thoughts head on

I think "Car Radio" strongly resonates from the get to people who suffer from mental health illnesses or have thought of pulling the steering wheel on their own life. It can feel like "quiet is violent." What I like about this song is the next verse where Tyler is dying for you to stay alive and think rather than sleep. People suffering clinical depression knows what it feels like to have no desire other than to sleep. The desire for rest, for recuperation is so strong, but what you usually get is insomnia. Ren's "Insomnia" conveys this poignantly. BP, check out TØP's "Lane Boy" and "Heavydirtysoul." You'll love them.

You nailed it! The rabbit hole is well worth it with TOP. The beauty of Tyler's lyricism is that there is room for so many interpretations. Love what you said about art and how you interpret it, so true. Some context around TOP, their themes deal with that introspection around self doubt, anxiety, overcoming personal demons, and balance. Always finding the balance no matter the heavy topic. Everything they do is full of substance and sustenance. Their layers have layers. I know you're going to love their catalog. You get it. And theirs are messages worth getting. Extremely inspirational to so very, very many. Excited to watch your journey! Been watching you a while and def elated you're on to TOP now. They're the reason I watch reaction vids in the first place. Really like your original content, too :) I would suggest Lane Boy (ur def gonna like their take on the music industry in this one!), Migraine, and Ode to Sleep for next vids. And yeah, there's a reason you've likely heard Stressed Out in Chipotle! Hahaha, Google twenty one pilots and Chipotle sometime! 😂 Let's go! |-// 💛

Great job on the lyrics for a first listen. The lyrics are genius. My daughter loves this band, and when she was a teen, she would play them in my car all the time. This is the first song that really impressed me and spoke to me. Music has always been an escape for me, and my car radio, literally, has saved me from a 36 year commute to and from work. lol. Though Tyler's car radio was actually stolen, he uses it to describe his mind and his music. When the crowd, in the video, carry Tyler back to the stage, to me, that is the fans putting their car radio back to perform for us. The ending, I believe his hair is back to show that this whole thing happened in his mind. His scream shows how the silence/overthinking can be maddening. I feel his pain as he screams. Powerful song.

This is one of the most popular songs with the fanbase - you got the meaning of the song - it was actually inspired by Tyler getting his Car Radio stolen in college but the song is more about what that represented to him - he no longer had that thing in his life that distracted him from his problems - so everyone's "Car Radio" is something different I think his hair being back at the end represents that he's still that same nervous guy from the beginning when he takes the mask off

This is why I sent you the list of the order on their videos, the tattoos aren't real. the darkness covers his throat and his hands, which are where his music comes from. It happens in parts of songs and videos when his insecurities, inner demons, society, industry etc are trying to take away his music. They have a built in story line for their songs and videos that all make more sense if you follow the story line. Even as these songs were released, their webpage had clues and fake 404 errors that had codes in them that told the next song they were releasing, their album covers have hidden maps etc.

I took the lyrics as the car radio was a distraction that was taken away. And now you are forced to sit in silence. Like if your job or family or drugs was a distraction from life, you put your soul and energy into it, its what defined you. And then that is taken away and now you have to evaluate who you are as a person, and maybe you dont like what you see.
