I, a “hardcore” introvert save people’s contacts though I only communicate with them when it comes to work so they are acquaintances and customers, not friends. For friends, I am like Pekora on the regard. In my case, they are in Facebook. And I am not the type to meet up with old friends and hang out. Drains away my energy quite fast. I rather play video games and all that at home. Plus, I have an 8 AM to 5 PM work routine. After 5 PM is my alone time all the time which I am totally okay with. That said, that’s just a point of view from one of the many introverts in the world. Don’t let us ruin you extroverts’ way of living.

@@DarkmonstaR Rushia (aka Mikeneko) graduated a while ago, the reason being she leaked some internal info that she was contractually bound to not divulge due to a non disclosure agreement to a guy who's famous for making videos about gossip regarding stuff like internet personalities, who was allegedly a friend of hers. Recently (2-3 weeks ago, IIRC) that guy revealed on Twitter that he and her had been married for a year and then divorced and that she was abusing him psychologically, controlling him out of jealousy and cheating on him with a mutual friend. He even accused her of animal abuse. She replied denying most of those statements but admitting she was married with him and that indeed she was texting an ex but she said he wasn't having intercourse with him. Now they are bringing the whole thing in front of judge, I think. They got lawyers involved.

People really shouldn't expect so much interaction between the members. Regardless of how close you are, you don't need to always check up on others to remain friends. Idk about people nowadays but friendship aren't that shallow where if you forget to say good morning once then you already are in bad terms. I have a friend who I get in contact with like, 1 month every 1-2 years and everytime we talk its like no time passed in-between. In some situations, you are even considered lucky if literally your parents check up on you every once in a while.

This is interesting to hear. I always wondered how much personal communication holomems have with each other and “just discord” makes a lot of sense. I always thought they must always use their character names because if you used real names behind the scenes you’d be at risk of slipping and doxxing someone on air. But of course some of them know each other from before or do have personal relationships so I assume they have to pick up the habit of character name only.

Yeah there are clearly big differences. Pekora and Gura for example seem to keep more to themselves, while there is a big clique in JP that often meets up. Like Suisei, Choko, Aki, Subaru, Marine, Flare, Noel, Towa and some others.

I hate to say this but ngl that's one of those pretty annoying questions that would just throw anyone off or might kill the mood like man, if they already moved on then I think its best you don't ask (something similar to youtubers from Vanoss Crew gets asked questions like this from time to time). At the end of the day, they are only coworkers, so it is understandable that they don't remain in contact after Rushia's termination. It's understandable. I've had years-long friends vanish on Discord with no other ways to contact them afterwards. Same with some old Steam friends I used to play with all the time - now they're just "last online 1400 days ago". I'm sure most Discord users have had that happen with someone. The friendship just kinda gets forgotten about after a few months, people go on different paths.

@@Cosmoman78 I'd argue there's a difference, but I don't wanna dwell too much on it. With Coco it was voluntary and came as a shock to everyone. With Rushia it was an internal matter that compelled the company. I won't disagree that there was distance there, but idk - I don't wanna make too big a deal out of it. Put a different way, it's like saying goodbye to someone who gives notice at work versus someone who's terminated during lunch. There's feelings involved but there's no sense in comparing the two circumstances.

Do you keep in touch with your former colleague? Probably not, even if you're best friend at the office. You'll have your own thing to take care of; they'll have their own thing to take care of. Unless you're close irl, the only time you two are likely to contact each other is either birthdays, new year, and probably wedding; and your interactions might just be as short as a congratulatory message. The situation between Pekora and Rushia is probably the same. They might be close when Rushia was in Hololive, but they were not friend outside of work, which is believable given how introverted both girls are.

With respect to the holomems and those who left, the bottom line is they’re ultimately coworkers. Yes they’re on good terms for the most part but not everyone is friends with each other. I assume that Pekora and Rushia, while being in the same gen, are not close to the same level as the others who plan sleepovers, lunch/dinner dates, and outings regularly.

As an introvert myself, that's what I do to my working colleagues too. It's a pain to set up contact with one individual over multiple platforms. If I'm adding a contact with one person over Whatsapp, that'll be the only app I'll use to contact that individual, be it business or personal topics. I wouldn't be switching to using LINE or Telegram or WeChat or Teams for that person at all. On the other hand, I use Discord exclusively for gaming only.
