Good idea to add a humidity gauge and desiccant, I might do that too!

Was looking to do something similar. Glad to have found this. Why crown-side up?

When you travel with it, do you put it in a suitcase or carry it separately?

Great review and awesome idea! Do you think if I place it dial up, the lid depth might be too tight?

Important idea, you absolutely should have a secure solid place for your timepieces if your traveling or move on a regular basis. This is a wise investment as we do put allot of effort/investment into the pieces we obtain and wouldn't want to lose one for lack of knowledge of this type of case. Thumbs up.

It is impossible for me to watch this and not be convinced that this is; in fact, Willem Dafoe pretending to be a normal guy on KZbin...

C'mon mate... these are tool watches, not cuban cigars.

Totally get what you're saying, but half my collection is 60s-70s vintage and you can never count on any water sealing with vintage. Moisture is known to cause deterioration and corrosion of watch dials. And mechanical watches in general are sensitive to shock. This way I protect against both! Not to mention watches are more expensive than cigars!

With that logic you must have a PhD in mechanical engineering. Them being a watch means they deserve more care because they are meant to last pretty much life times vs a cigar made out of freakin leaves and paper lol.

@@TheCriticalGentleman can't you get them serviced where they will replace the gaskets and test to restore watertightness?
