I know you get thousands of comments but I hope you see this one..my mom is over 60 and I got her kayaking. She started cheap but she loves kayaking and wanted to upgrade. After checking out tons of kayak reviews she decided after your video this one is perfect for what she wants. We love your channel!!!! She gets her kayak delivered tomorrow and we are excited..thank you!!

I got interested in kayak fishing after running across your videos, bought a Pelican Catch 100 because of your videos, absolutely love that thing. Customized it with items I made from home processed plastic, inspired by your videos. Bought a second Pelican kayak, because I loved the first, having been introduced to the brand by your videos, and have 3 kids who I wanted to be able to enjoy kayaking. My parents enjoyed mine so much they bought two Pelican sit insides, because the brand I discovered in your videos make an affordable very reliable and well thought out product. Having just watched your video, Now I want a Getaway Pelican Kayak! Then I would have access to one for each of my family member and we could adventure the water together. Anybody else sensing a trend here! I think Pelican has been good to you, but you’ve probably more than covered your share of returning the favor. Keep up the great work, enjoy the loop and don’t let us or others push you along it, if you need a different pace, that joy comes out in the end.

I have watched all your videos about this kayak and you were actually the one that helped me make the final decision to get this model. There is one mod that you can do to it that makes it actually an outstanding fishing kayak. That is the rudder. I took 1/2 inch refrigerator water line that I had lying around and fished 2 small ropes through it. I secured it right along the same line all the way up to where the rudder seats itself. I connected it to the rudder through the hole right along the channel where Pelican and Hobie would put their line. I attached two knobs to the other end and Voila up and down rudder controls with a pull of the rope. Good Luck on the rest of your endeavors and cant wait to see the next video.

Hey Marty, I copy and pasted the name of this Pelican kayak from your video title and checked it out, but while doing so I also heard your request to check it out using your link, so I did that, too. I like how you described the kind of company Pelican is and this is the kind of company that I want to support. I've been looking at different types of kayaks, but now I'm going to focus my search on the Pelican line of products. Thanks for the heads up.

I’m very interested in this new type of kayak; please do more videos about it. I’d like to see if you can paddle while standing in really skinny water. I’d also like to see how fast it can go and how well it handles in choppy water.

@@bahmak2003 because they're beyond slow..I got a prop driven one now, they incredibly fast...the only reason I was looking into Hobie, is because of the weed factor, but I've been going through weeds all morning with mine and it's not a problem at all, you just tilt the unit up and take off any weeds that stick to it. Awesome video! Never saw the HyDryve pedal system in action. Just got into kayaking this summer and just bought my second Pelican kayak, a sit on top. My first one is a 12 ft touring (the Escape 120x). Super impressed with the price / quality ratio. Fun fact, I live about 20 minutes drive from Pelican's HQ. Every time I go to work I see the big kayaking murals on the plant's walls... get's me all stoked about going on the water. Keep on having fun! Stay safe!

i'm just putting mine together. I live on the ocean so I am hoping it won't be to much for it. I tried a Hobie inflatable last year and loved that it was so easy to use and something i can actually use. Arthritis makes it difficult to paddle a traditional kayak so the fins make it much easier to get out on the water.

Great update thanks Marty. Nice to see you fishing again too. Getaway 110 HDII looks good. Pelican need to check their website - they have it listed as 100 HDII! I was also trying to find the dimensions for the Bass raider 10E & Intruder 12 but none shown. Shame that more Pelican products are not available here in the UK, and those that are available are very expensive IE the Explorer 14.6 DLX (only Pelican product available locally) is $629.99 on Pelican's website, but $1106.93 here at current exchange rates. Nearly twice as much. Stay safe & well. 👍👍

Love your videos! Let me know if you want to know some Kayak Fishing spots around Morehead City. On a boat rope is a raw material and called rope until it is attached to something. So when you attaches that rope to the bow it became a line that is also called a painter when on the bow or the stern. A lot of other lines have specific names to avoid confusion like rode for the anchor or haulyard for line line that hauls the sail up the mast and sheet for line that trims a sail. Specific names can help avoid confusion when you are in a situation that calls for fast action and want to communicate with your crew.

Nice, Pelican has it going on. If they made a bigger size with a stern mount for trolling motor, would be the bomb. Choice of peddle or electric motor, for us heavier guys. Thanks for this model introduction Marty. 73 Earnest K5EWM.

I Have to admit that I was not initially impressed by the Pelican kayaks after examining a few at Walmart. I generally go for longer, solid fishing kayaks that are obviously more expensive. But my local Academy has a few Pelicans now that really get my attention. I generally just fish from them, so short and fat is fine. The Catch 100 looks really interesting. What's up with the two piece construction? They seem to have a hull and a deck that are glued together. Do they ever leak?
