just tried this today and it was AMAZING!!!! the meat was way more succulent and juicy than just throwing on the grill, fat cap down, smoking per usual then wrapping in foil......i dont know what Q juice is but that would have been nice to see an alternative recipe for the injection... i just used an apple juice, apple cider vingar and sweet wine concoction to inject the meat...LOLs

That sounds like you did a perfect type of injection for pork. Anything sweet usually works well, but this chef has some products out for his business Sweet Smoke Q. Q juice is one of his products! He's an amazing pitmaster. sweetsmokeq.com/q-store.html

6 hours - 2hrs at 215 - then 3 hrs at 250 then 1 hour rest unwrapped

what was the liquid poured into pan? no way that much just came from the butt?

Most of it is the juices from the butt. the rendered fat, and the Injection seeping out. I use a gravy seperator and usually get about 2-3 cups of liquid from each butt. Wait for the fat to separate at the top. Then pour in most of the juice back into the shredded pork. Then jar a little but for heating up leftovers later.

How long did it cook for after being wrapped, before it reached 200°?

wrap at 165 degrees internal temp till it hits 2-00 then pull it off, take off foil rest for 1 hr
