Something occurred to me after listing to Paul’s podcast last week and now watching this short video . Paul could be where he wants to be if he’d drop his bullshit and simplify his head . In short , he’s got to sacrifice things he doesn’t want to sacrifice and he’d achieve his dream . There’s obviously something very special about him . I wish him well x

Intesting your using 5.3lb main and using 7lb (0.19 mm) hook length's .I thought it would need to be a lesser breaking strain than the main line ? Thanks for a Great video as always

The pulse pro mainline is 0.18. Breaking strains are a little outdated now. The diameter of the line is a better way of gauging the strength. It won't actually be 5lb line under testing. Neither of them will be.

@@andymcmillan9260 Thanks for your answer. yes Im new to dia it was always line strength. Still, Paul is using 0.18 main and has said his hook length was 0.19 which still makes his main line weaker ?

@@storm42100 it does. But I would argue that an n gauge hook length would always lose in a tug of war with pulse pro. Comes down to the quality of the line sometimes. I think if he was using 5lb line and a 20lb hook length then that wouldn't be very responsible fishing. But the knots used are also a factor. A figure eight knot in the mainline is a very strong knot, adding extra strength to the mainline. Either a half blood knot or a simple through loop of the hook length is a way around using stronger breaking strains as a hook length. Some knots are stronger than others, and that figure eight wouldn't give way to a standard loop knot or half blood knot. Plus he ties his own. I think he was showing the pre tied ones as an example. I personally use 8lb mainline (only fish short distance and the carp are big at my lake) to a 9lb n gauge hook length. Sometimes I use the same setup on 6lb line. The mainline has never let me down in snag situations. Always been the knot.

@@storm42100 a short length of higher diameter hooklength will always break before a greater length of mainline. Its all to do with the stretch in the line

Using the (5lb)-(6lb) mainline and using the hooklengths pre made from guru they have to be lighter am i right if so and i use 6lb main which hooklengths from guru would u recommend also how does this work with line mm seen some people say o.19 main to 0.17 hooklength whats the theory 👍
