I really like my 40 pint Pelonis. I have owned several dehumidifiers over the years--this is by far the best. The best part is I was amazed how quickly it works to get me humidity down; not so with any other dehumidifier I've ever owned. The most recent--which I returned-- claimed to be 60 pints--was maybe a 20 and took three days to remove the same amount of humidity this one did in 8-10 hours. This is energy star also. Has all the settings I'd ever need. I hope it lasts. The Pelonis website says 1 year warranty. Menards website says 3 year warranty. The box says, "3 year limited warranty".

The bucket capacity is 12.6 pints. The 40 pint rating is in reference how much moisture it can remove from the air in a 24-hour period.

Wish I had watched this video before I bought my Pelonis PAD50P1ABL yesterday. It's in my 1200 sq ft. basement which is usually around 70 degrees, 60% humidity in the summer. I set it at 50% and about 6 hours later, it brought it down to 50%. Props for that, but it started short cycling just like yours. Not good on the compressor, etc. The humidistat is on the upper right hand side of the coils. I'm very tempted to void the warranty and move it away from the coils to see if that helps. Maybe just outside of the casing.

Well only time will tell until it leaks all of its refrigeration charge due to lack of quality on the coils. This seems to be the big problem for all modern Dehumidifier’s of all brands. I have not seen one in almost 15-20 years last more than 5 plus years.

Is it correct that the tank holds 40 pints? The humidifier can remove 40 points from the air. Normally the tanks are smaller and need to be emptied more often than one might think because it is not 40 pints.
@pourindiesel5 ай бұрын
You're correct.
@curtgruhl13865 ай бұрын
Neither the review nor the information say how large the container is. Seems it would be simple to say it can remove 40 pints of water a day. With a water container that holds 20 pints. (Guessing about that, though, because it appears to be a secret.)

Sounds nice and quiet. My 25-year-old Westinghouse 25 pt dehumidifier sounds more like a jet engine, and doesn't seem to be able to draw moisture below 70% (really damp basement) no matter how long I let it run, at least according to an off-the-shelf hygrometer (different hygrometers seem to produce different readings).

@ryanstrains644610 ай бұрын
Hello, I had a 50 pint unit from this company and got it at Menards. After about 3 months of operation, it developed a refrigerant leak and caused it to freeze up and eventually stop working. This is fairly a very common issue with all modern dehumidifiers these days. Why they can’t make the coils right and make sure the system is sealed properly is beyond anyone’s understanding. This is likely what happened to yours. Likely had a leak from the start.

Nice basic videobut it doesn't cover 2 things I was most interested in: how to hook up hose, and comfort setting v. Continuous run mode.
@pourindiesel3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting. Comfort setting basically self regulates run time to a comfortable humidity level. Continuous run mode will keep running the unit until it fills, Continuous can result in an overly dry environment.

@@pourindiesel How do you mean that it doesn't like temps in the low 60's? Our nearly 25-year-old Westinghouse dehumidifier also "will not operate satisfactorily if room temperature is below 65 degrees", which is one of the reasons I'm looking to upgrade, as moisture needs to be pulled from our basement even during mild weather.

Got the 20 pint version the other day. Does yours cycle on and off rather frequently? I noticed mine does after it reaches target humidity. It seems the humidistat likes to shoot back up after it shuts off, which causes the unit to immediately start a new cycle.

I think mine does that as well. What you can do to alleviate the issue is to either set the desired humidity higher or lower to keep the unit on or off for longer periods.
