Doctors never think to look for EDS. I am 55 years old and I have suffered for years...only to find the answers for myself. It's shameful

Doctors were not trained for it. My kidney doc said they were shown a photo of the most extreme type of EDS and were told you will never see one. The hypermobile type is much more common than believed. Younger docs were trained to know there is such a thing but too frequently they don't necessarily really what to do with us.

Very insightful for me with HSD. I'm currently seeking diagnosis/treatment in Australia for pelvic floor dysfunction. Already treating orthostatic intolerance (NMH). No diagnosis yet for the urinary or bowel dysfunction or menstrual issues. They must all be linked to the HSD though
