When the femur and hip bone connect, they form one of the most important joints in the Human body: the hip joint. Now that you learned all their bony landmarks, test your knowledge here: khub.me/de70w
Oh, are you struggling with learning anatomy? We got the ★ Ultimate Anatomy Study Guide ★ to help you kick some gluteus maximus in any topic. Completely free. Download yours today: khub.me/7jxbu
In this tutorial, we’re going to be exploring the osteology of the femur and, a specific part of the pelvis known as the hip bone. Remember that the hip bone is formed by the fusion of 3 bones: the ischium, ilium and pubic bone. Together, they form the acetabulum, which is the area where the head of the femur articulates with the hip bone. So we’re going to talk about that and many other bony elements related to the those important bones of the lower extremity.
Now, keep in mind that throughout this tutorial, we're not only going to talk about bony landmarks, but mentioning some of their functions. To tie this up, we're going to end this video talking about the ligaments that connect the femur and the hip bone.
We will talk about:
introduction to the bony pelvis;
overview of the bones that form the hip bone;
acetabulum;
definition and bony landmarks of the ilium;
definition and bony landmarks of the pubic bone;
definition and bony landmarks of the ischium;
bony landmarks of the femur;
main ligaments found between the femur and hip bone: ligament of the head of the femur, iliofemoral ligament, ischiofemoral ligament, pubofemoral ligament, and transverse acetabular ligament.
Want to test your knowledge on the hip bone and femur? Take this quiz: khub.me/de70w
Read all about the anatomy and function of the femur in great detail here: khub.me/1jawf

@Sanskaar Pal That was pretty rude. A lot of doctors in East Asian countries are not well versed in English. Does that make them illiterate? Try to get out of that crappy Indian mindset where people judge literacy by their proficiency in English.

Very good visuals, but the VO person combines hyper singsongy “entertainment” with a too fast delivery, making the video less informative and accessible than it could be. Trust me: professional, not playful, narration will increase its effectiveness and accessibility. This gets only three out of five stars because the narrator's “entertaining” voiceover is a barrier to comprehension, and frankly, obnoxious and in-groupy. (Attitude is: “Aren’t we all soooo smart?”) She sounds snooty and her jokes aren’t funny. A pro narrator doesn't have to hit every note in a two octave range to make a video interesting. How about a redo? Then you’ll have an instructional video for the ages.
