Found Pema through her mini books offered while I was in prison. Buddhism kept me sane.

I came to this many times in my life, and it has guided me to face my suffering using it as a tool for healing. Yesterday, Tonglen meditation allowed me to process my pain and sorrow regarding Aaron Bushnell. Bless you Pema.

I can do tonglen for my mother and father, stepfather and stepmother. I can do it for others. It's amazing and it is the miracle. I am willing to change. I am willing to heal. I am willing to forgive and to transform their pain. ❤

Thank you so very much! I’ve been recently introduced to Tonglen, but needed more understanding; this was such a lovely explanation of using mothers … I’ve been engaged in a long process of “forgiving” my mother (who has already passed away many years ago) this example has made it so much more real and personal! 💖🙏📿

Is claustrophobia the right term? Its a type of phobia, which would actually require generating fear on the in breath. Perhaps the feeling of compression or smallness would be better terms.

dear Pema, please tell me, why would we do this practise? Is it an authentic spiritual practise or more psychological? Thank you, I have no past experience with Tonglen. Does the act of doing to glen for others actually alleviate the suffering of another?
@dianashimkus904 жыл бұрын
It reduces our own self-referencing; reducing our and others suffering, and continues to open us instead of separate us-in our connection we are more available to the world, as a healing agent.
@Thepsychicstars2 жыл бұрын
Why does she focus on claustrophobia?
@AppleliciousStory2 жыл бұрын
Because being fearful is also a type of self cherishing mind (ego). By facing your ego and watching your mind freak out over something you thought claustrophobic/scary (eg taking the sufferings of others), overtime you suffer less and increase bodhicitta because the ego lessened. It is just dark, heavy, thick, hot - not an opinion of what is your perception of what is heavy, thick and hot 😊

With all my humble respect. I don't agree We can take loads from our parents and We shouldn't try it to do it. I think the approach is not the correct. We can only receive from them. With all respect
