Have never really 'gotten into' Wylde - not saying he cannot play because obviously 'he can' - I just personally never followed him. One thing that has been consistent with respect to his 'playing style' - and the really 'good' guitarists have their 'own' sound, you know who it is the moment you hear a riff/note. The 'thing' I reckon has been consistent with Wylde is his excellent use of pinch harmonics. The great Vivian Campbell of DIO/Whitesnake + Leppard [where he is way under utilised] also has an awesome pinch harmonic ability. Every solo Wylde plays has pinch harmonics laid down - well that's my opinion anyway.

Amazing, amazing performance. We were totally blown away as we thought we were only going to see a lower key "guitar clinic" that day. I remember it was $10 and they gave us each a free set of guitar strings on the way out. Zakk showed up late with a 12-pack and said something like "You don't want to see me just play scales, right?". I'm pretty certain this was Saturday, 05/01/1993 (not 01/05). Not thinking that was Lomenzo or DeAngelo either. Best last minute Saturday afternoon decision ever!

@WalkingDead520 Жыл бұрын
@@wcreview8227 bold i agree haha. I am talking heavy metal/rock and the reason i say metal and rock is because they are big genres(not subgenres) so technically i am not saying they are the best in their genres (even though they are) but they are also the best overall guitarists that have ever lived (because all music genres are interconnected) right? Toni Lommi is the pioneer, maybe Van Halen and Randy as well, but they were also the best in each of their time. Maybe they can still be considered the best. But i try to put everyone in order and how music and everything that exists is always evolving, thats why i would say Zakk and Dime are the ending pinnacle of guitarists/ or of heavy metal/ rock/hard rock. Im not sure, what do you think? But yes basically, music died after the 90s but since Zakk is one of the best if not the best and is still alive, hes the best guitarist keeping music alive to this day. And the reason i would put Randy over Dime is because Dime had a ego of wanting to be better than everyone. Randy was a natural and still managed to be the best. I would still consider Randy the best ever because he was around when music hit its peak (he made it, i think) and he created 2 important techniques that shaped all of metal of today. Zakk and Dime are the epitome of Randy and Van Halen.
