Hello Alphonso, thank you for the effort put into your channel and pedagogic material. I'm going through your first book, trying to develop the line of balance in my drawings. This is an beautiful landscape, would you please comment on how would you approach an Arctic seascape: ice-floe, icebergs and of course the ocean? Have a great day!
@alphonsodunn6 жыл бұрын
I should definitely do a tutorial on this. But in the mean time I suggest you trying to simplify a scene like that by first thinking of the ocean as like the main base of the composition then place the iceberg and floating ice blocks as a simple forms.

I have only been drawing for a week or two and have learned a lot from all your videos. Thank you for that. I ordered your book (even though it is "Prime", amazon gave me a delivery date 9 days out). I slowed down this video to 1/4 speed to try to figure out how you drew the evergreen tree. It looks like you are just "scribbling" yet it looks great. Any chance you could make a video on how to do this? Also, I read that you are in Passaic county. I grew up in Passaic county and now live in Sussex county. Do you offer adult classes anywhere? Thanks again for all the videos. They are greatly appreciated.

fantastic! the focal ppoint of this drawing is very well done I see you detailed the trees around the area where the house and the white snow making it pop out of the drawing. I agree that to show a subject focal point needs directional lines a lot of detailed around it its all there in this drawing but if I was me to do it I would do it differently. yes I agree the more you use reference with your art eventrully your mind kind create from imagination. when I use refereance I use many sketches and pics and combined them and walla!! imagination drawing!! ok draw tropical landscape "palm trees".

Hey Alphonso, You are an incredible artist, I learn so much from your videos. It is amazing to me that you offer this elite level of art instruction to the public out of the kindness of your heart. it must be a lot of work to produce your channel. Please let the viewers know how we can support you. I would LOVE for you to write a pen and ink instructional book someday. Art instruction books are lacking in that medium and you are the best. Thanks

Ok I love ur work n I learn so much from u n have for yrs now. However I need to know how to make snow covered branches. Trees covered in snow. Waters edge with snow. If I were painting it would be rather simple but with graphite it's difficult n no one is covering this topic. Too many lazy artist who do not want to do individual pieces. Like leaves. They find ways to group them for speed instead of taking the time to draw each one. I want to draw each one.
@darskicutler18946 жыл бұрын
you almost convince me to work in pen and ink :) but it is so demanding.

But... ...how to draw mountains with - snow on them? How you differ that this not a simply light on mountain but it's a white snow? And how you draw snow in shadow area? I mean, in shadows area there be places with snow and without snow (naked rock) how to draw this differences?
@alphonsodunn6 жыл бұрын
You use contrast and local value. I will perhaps have to do a video on this
