Your video recall my memories in PengHu, I have two years in penghu for my military service. There is a beautiful place with many amazing things. The crystal water and blue sky,the fresh seafood. As you said, it's a good time travel to penghu this year.

They are prickly pears, a wild grown pest in Queensland, Australia. Don’t pick it up with your bear hand, because all the micro-thorns will prick onto your hands! I did it before....ouch....I recently just googled “how to pick prickly pear”, hopefully I can harvest it next time, and make my own cactus juice!

In order to compete with Spain for trade in Asia, the Dutch East India Company VOC chose Taiwan as a stronghold in the 18th century. But at the beginning, they wanted to occupy Penghu. But the Ming Dynasty claimed that Penghu was its own territory. If it is occupied, it will face war. In desperation, VOC finally chose Tainan.

Penghu was incorporated into China during the Yuan Dynasty nearly 400 years before Taiwan became a part of China during the Qing Dynasty. There were Chinese on Penghu while Taiwan was mostly populated by aboriginals when the Qing took over Taiwan.
