You know, this is super wimpy, but I'm gonna say it anyway. I think I have a fairly thick or at least medium skin, and I enjoy dark humor, and Kaya's occasional disturbing take doesn't ruin an episode for me in the way some other people say it does. But every once in a while, Kaya really does make me feel profoundly uncomfortable in that way where you feel it in the pit of your stomach, and it's when he reminds me of myself when I was younger. When he goes on these cringey, edgy, make-everyone-else-in-the-room go silent rants I feel like someone is holding up a mirror to me at 14, and it's not a part of my life I'm proud of, and it's not something I want to be reminded of, and it's not something I like to see. I'm not sure what kind of climate you live in where laughing at someone else dying, whether it was from something stupid or not, is socially acceptable, but that doesn't fly in the West (notice how everyone else immediately got quiet). It has nothing to do with being "ready for the world", you should never be ready to see another person die, although for people in say the armed forces, or EMTs, I suppose that's almost inevitable. It was a controversial take and it didn't stick the landing, it's something he should have kept to himself. While most people understand by the age of 20 that rushing a group of people armed with knives is a bad idea, you don't know what lead him to that point. In the earlier Podcast episodes he didn’t really talk so it may be that he just came out of his shell and opened up displaying his personality.
