Andrew is right about how good roasted broccoli is, and it's cheating with how simple it is to make it delicious. Basic: a little drizzle of oil and some salt and pepper, roast until you get charring. Bam, that's already fuckin fantastic. Choose a spice mix from your grocer or dollar store and you've got even more flavor custom to what you feel like. It's seriously so simple and tasty as a side dish.

Yeah, I'mma call bs on the english doing that... they were very religious in those days - there's no easier way to get a lynch mob on your head than to force your subject's daughters to sleep with you - then there are the other nobles, who were also very religious, having an issue with their lord engaging in adultery like this who probably was married to one of their daughters, which they would see as an insult to their family... it's literally the worst decision a ruler could make, as it would piss off both his subjects and his support structure, not to mention the clergy would excomunicate him faster than it would take him to get hard.

Congratulations to Matt and Monique! It did not start with Queen Victoria. Generally they were modest until Charles and Diana got married and then everyone said "I'm special. I deserve the best". Now people bankrupt themselves for week long receptions and to hell with putting a down payment on a house. And they still kidnap women for marriage.
