As someone who works on films the budget is easy to explain. Once you have a certain level of cast on set there’s so much that just gets approved based around that…the concept of whatever it is your filming isn’t even taken into consideration. To add insult to injury, Red One wasn't even filmed for IMAX. In order for a movie to meet that qualification, it must be shot on an IMAX certified digital camera or shot on IMAX's 15 perforation 70mm film stock, 15/70 for short. The movie must also have scenes that are framed for either 1.43:1, 1.90:1, or both aspect ratios. Red One met none of those specifications. It was only optimized for IMAX, meaning they tweaked the picture and sound.

7:06 i’m going to have to completely disagree on the visuals being “impressive.” if we’re talking about the cgi, sometimes it looks alright, but other times it looks like it was done by a team of overworked, underpaid, and frustrated vfx houses in like a month (particularly with the first chase scene and whenever dwayne johnson shrinks to the size of an elf). if we’re talking about cinematography, i’ll also say that was really bad. the whole movie had an unappealing flat overly digital look (that is, if you were able to see it). every scene was lit either flatly or barely at all. $250 million budget and the result is a worst case scenario Marvel movie.

The same moron you see at Walmart is the same type of moron running the biggest companies and even the white house. They get their jobs from friends and family EVERY time too, which is why they are never qualified and make the dumbest decisions. Had a boss with 45 years work experience, a Vice President at a large well known corporation and very well known internally as “the guy”. He got passed over 3 times for president of his branch in his career. Each time to the previous President’s frat brother. None of them familiar with the industry so I spent the better part of my time with each of them explaining THEIR job. They never did it either, always passing the buck with every task….It was literally a group of frat bros rotating a job that pays so well they can crash and burn for 2 years and still retire with a golden parachute. Meanwhile everyone else loses their jobs because the management was so shite. My boss left and so did anyone of quality within a year after him. They recently offered him an absurd package to go back and fix things. Ofc he still wouldn’t be president and he’d get about 1/3 of the pay of the president whose job he’s going back to do. Still enough to make any man’s mouth water. We are talking about millions for a few months work. And to think, its still a drop compared to to the CEO napping away in at home (you thought he’d bother going into the office? Lmao). You can make this shit up and I assure you it happens at the highest level of all industries. Old heads who think they can do no wrong because they are protected from their own mistakes. @@bain8renn Maui isn't even an example of good Rock acting. In typical Rock fashion, his character Maui's first scene is a musical number that glazes him the entire time, he plays the hero for most of the movie and flexes his muscles and tattoos 24/7. It was weirdly the same though for Beetlejuice opening week at Leicester in the UK. Huge cinema with only one row of seats with extra legroom. That one row was packed uncomfortably shoulder-to-shoulder but every other seat was empty. I think people just find it more comfortable at home nowadays. TV screens are huge, snacks are cheaper, and you can pause and go to the loo if you need to. Being in a cinema with other people used to feel exciting - a shared experience - but I think nowadays people prefer their own space more.

List of movies that instantly puts Red One in the gutters in terms of Story, Film technology and Cinematography techniques 1. Dune Part 2 - They continued the arguably most unadapatable story in the history of fiction on screen, has also advanced the film industry to a whole another level, by using unorthodox film techniques, especially with the blending of practicalfx and vfx. Also visually Dune part 2 reaches the “Every frame is a painting” level 2. Deadpool & Wolverine - Has beaten out the spiderman fanchise and every other super hero franchise in terms of fan service, delivering one off if not the best cameos in super hero film history. 3. Furiosa - This is one of the most anticipated storyline/spinoff that has ever come out on a one off movie from almost a decade ago, and it didn’t push back. 4. The Substance - The most innovative and creative modern horror that has ever came out since the pandemic. No shock value and engineered jumpscare, just horror 5. Bad Boys: Ride or die - an action comedy film that doesn’t hold back, and used witty camera techniques that has never seen before on screen, plus the action just escalated 6. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes - The spinoff that we never anticipated, but glad that they did 7. Civil War - The closest box office hit by A24 studios, serves one of the best thrills this year 8 A Quiet Place: Day one - A film that answers one of the most FAQs in terms of storylines on a horror franchise. These are films I watched this year and can think off that is really good in a span of 5 minutes. There’s probably more but I just can’t remember.
