Burnham B48 fountain pen

My family is the Burnham family :-) my grandad still stores the pens his dad made in loft the business is no longer in running, but I still find it amazing to this day :-)

Grandmia Pens no no not for sale but he has only ever showed me once, some of them are like limited edition and all sorts of other kinds, a very cool fact is that his dad came up with the idea of the laser pen in the bond films! Old bond films tho haha! He is very protective of them, but I’m sure I can get some photos if you wanted to see them :-) I’ll ask wether he can get them out the loft lol :-)

Sounds really interesting, i would love to have a chat with him about the Burnham pen family and the history etc. Maybe he would consider loaning some pens for me to review and share with other pen enthusiast.

Nice that with the B48 and most Burnhams the section screws into the barrel too - so they are easy to maintain or resack I use a burgundy / grey B48 at work but with a very smooth medium Osmiroid nib

Yes they are quite easy to work on, except the problem with the very thin gold plate which is easily removed. Enjoy your pen.

weird my 48 is much smaller (i.e. ladypen) and has an s20 nib. your b48 seems more similar to my b55 which ialso have.

They made different size pens with the same model number, it depends when it was manufactured. Example i had two 55s and the earlier model as in the video was a larger pen than the later 55s.
