I had two of these reels sitting in a box. One got pulled in the ocean by a shark and locked up, the other was having an unknown problem, so I put it out of commission. This video gave me the confidence to take them apart and restore them. Now they both work! Your videos are fantastic! I will definitely spread the word.

I Finally did it. Your tutorial in video is fantastic...easy to follow. The only comment I have is that the spring in the spool is not fully explained on how to position the small hook or Tab. The locking spool retracted fully and lock in place when I reel it in. Excellent video tutorial. Thank you very much. Hope you do more tutorial about Daiwa 8.1 Lexa HD 400XS-p.

@@TSGReelService thank you for responding. The bail arm when you slide the small spring. I’m trying to spot or observe how to place this metal tang to get the the correct placement. Your thump is covering the position of the metal tang along with the spring. After few adjustment, I finally gotten the correct position. Thank you

Thanks to you I’ve done 1gossa3diawa,2penn but on my Penn battle 2 it doesn’t real smooth when put back together there is no grinding or anything like that it feels firm like resistance not free enough I’ve taken back apart 2 more times no love still same I noticed though on the gear cover on handle side if I back off the screws a little it makes a difference but then I’ll get water intrusion? Any ideas ? Thank you again greatly appreciated & I’ve told 3 friends to check u out.👍

Thanks for watching and spreading the word about the channel! Glad to hear they're productive for you. Regarding the Penn Battle, play with the number of shims on the main gear and you should see/feel a difference..... get the number as close to what feels good to you as possible. Hope that helps.

Outstanding video. The best penn battle 6000 service video in all of KZbin. You walked me step at a time through the process and everything went back together as original. Can you do one for Diawa BG 6500? Also, I notice you don't use oil on bearings. Any reason why you don't recommend a drop on all internal bearings?
@TSGReelService3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Glad to hear your found the video useful. I have a BG4000 or 4500 in my video library you can check out. In general, I oil the bearings.... and you should too. There are some reasons why I wouldn't, but it's not easy to disseminate when and why.... more of a feel/experience thing. More vids to come! Spread the word about the channel.

Hi dear. I have bought two Penn Battle 2 6000s but to my surprise both have sort of crack at the top end of the bail arm. Can someone please confirm do all reels come like this or are mine damaged ? Thanks.

So you just lightly oil the clutch parts?
@TSGReelService3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! If you're referring to the anti-reverse clutch, yes, but it's VERY light.... half a drop on 2 or 3 of the rollers will suffice. If the clutch looks fine, leave it alone.

Need help i am lil confused ..i have 2 shims remaining i dont know where does it belong i have already fixed 3 shims in the main gear..can you tell me where does it fit?

Thanks for watching! Probably the pinion gear. Check the reel's schematics carefully for placement and fit.

Hi. I was trying to search if you guys had a website for reel service and pricing. I have a 4-5yr old Penn battle 2 6000 and it's been used pretty heavily over the years. Recently, I attempted to take it apart since it was making a clicking/grinding noise when rotating the handle, which I thought was sand inside. I took apart almost everything as shown in your video, except I somehow broke part of the crosswind block (I think). Anyway I wish I found this video sooner. I may have messed it up more since I put it back together and the reel handle doesn't really turn anymore. There was sand mixed up inside as well. Please let me know if this is something your company can help with. Thanks in advance.
