We did adventures with my oldest and it goes down as one of my favorite homeschool years! I still have it and often think we will redo it.

What do you think of using Adventures with only a 1st grader?

I’m sorry, I’m very new to this, we are just starting homeschooling this coming school year for our 1st and 3rd grader, is all of this just for third grade? You mentioned having a few kids going through this so I just wanted to see. Thanks so much for posting this info!

Kim Andrew hi! Yes, actually this would act as the “spine/core” of your curriculum. I used this with my 1st and 3rd grader this year. It covers your science, bible, history, and literature/read alouds. You just choose a language arts and math for the level each child needs. For my 1st Grader we used Christian Light Education’s Learning to Read program and Christian Light’s 1st grade Math. For my 3rd grader we used Christian Light Education’s Language Arts (which also includes spelling and penmanship) and Teaching Textbooks for Math.

I hands down love My Fathers world! It’s the only main curriculum that we have ever used. It’s so wonderful that I never want to change. We absolutely love it! Thanks for sharing!

Hello! If I had a rising 1st grader, and a preK student this coming fall.... how can I use mfw with 2 kiddos that are 2 years apart?! I'm trying to make this easy lol thx!

Ok.. so of course I asked my question BEFORE watching your video in its entirety.. but I am subscribed to your channel and love your videos! I appreciate your insight on this. That being said, I love CLE too! I'm nervous about my 6.5 yo son going through cle learn to read program, bc I fear it'll get too hard too quick for him. I was looking at the mfw 1st grade, and it seems like that could be a good fit (?!) I have no clue what to do .. I'm lost in curriculum world 🙈❤

What did your son do previously? The good thing about Learning to Read is you can make it work for you 😉 you can cut lessons in half and use it over the course of 2 years even. It’s very thorough and I suggest it be done as written because it is very effective. My son has loved it.

It would be fun to pair with 5 in a Row curriculum

We are doing this next year. Thanks for these extra book ideas! Where do you get your used books?

We actually have a great used bookstore where we live. Also Facebook buy/sale pages and homeschool pages are excellent places to find them as well!

We are just finishing up Kindergarten and going to dive right into 1st. Mfw has been a great fit for our family. I'm so looking forward to the 2nd grade year I love history too.

Just wondering if you can expound more on why you decided not to jump into the family cycle this year and if you ever an to return to MFW? I'm struggling to decide what I want to do lol. Next year I will have 7 under 9 and 4 in school... we r finishing Adventures this year but like you debating on doing something simpler for next year... but I do still love MFW... and keep going back and forth

We still aren’t going back next year. I’ve really enjoyed the different curriculums we’ve been doing this year. Next year I think we will use primarily Masterbooks for Science and History. We may return when mine get much older. Since this video I had another baby so my kids are 4th, 2nd, K, K, 2 years old, and 7 months. I could see us going back to the family cycle when my older ones are middle school.

Look at RC curriculum. U can do stuff like this but keeps u available for younger kids while older kids are self taught with 3Rs
