The parents of these kids NEED to instill values, accountability and respect for others to these kids, while they are growing up and not leave it to the system or government to do. The parents especially Moms have a big part to play in this. I come from a Third World country in Asia, and this type of violence doesn't happen there. Pointing the finger at a race of people, many of whom have not committed a crime, is a cop-out for not wanting to address the real issues, which is your failed political policies, politicians, and judicial system that treats criminals like victims and rarely holds violent offenders accountable.

It's sad because the government in Philadelphia is doing everything in its power to stop this violence. It's so good to see elected officials stepping up with leadership that goes after these thugs with midnight basketball, 24 hour rec centers, after school tutoring, job creation, keeping families together and their brilliant "Hug a Thug" strategy. By doing all these community minded interventions, Philadelphia politicians have shown they are not "about me" and are about the safety and advancement of the community.
