Did you know that the state of NM does not pay their state's elected law makers money except for travel and expenses?
@JohnDeWeese-lq4pf
@JohnDeWeese-lq4pf 2 ай бұрын
@@smas3256 That's TRUE for the NM State Legislatures BUT They only have a THIRTY DAY work time. In other words they serve as a PRIVILEDGE and only come together 30 days out of the year to do their work! Make and pass their bills. It's not like they are "working" 365 days a year excluding weekends. It's 30 days and gone back home. They get travel and meal money which should be at a reasonable rate. SO, if they work for 30 days and you give them $12 an hour for 24 hours send them a check for $8,640. Again, it's a PROVILEDGE to serve.

An empty semi with a 48’ ALUMINUM trailer behind it, empty, scales 31,000 lbs. They are saying that something that weighs less than an empty truck has to have a “road bond???” I would be going after each and every elected official in this, and demand a copy of their bond and their oath of office. They are violating both.

The people causing these problems moved to rural communities from cities (when it became untenable to live there) and sadly they don't know where their food comes from (even when living next to a farm). Once out in the country they are offended by the sites and smells, and angered by the inconvenience of having to drive behind slow farm equipment - so they run to the township office and complain. The township officials rather than telling them to move back to the city they came from pander to them to get votes. Very sad indeed. I saw an interview where one anti-farm individual ranted that the farmers should just get their food from the grocery store like everyone else... The level of stupid required to make such a statement is extraordinary.

No the government doesn't. Even as greedy as it is if it wanted it it would already have taken it. The Amish if anything are preventing developers from developing the land. I'm not a huge fan of the Amish and the animal abuse. The way they treat the horses and literally run them to death. Witnessed it myself. Ran a horse in the heat pulling a family buggy until the horse collapsed. Once it was down the man dragged it off the road BY IT'S EARS!, AND THEN PROCEEDED TO KICK IT IN THE FOREHEAD to get it back up. I couldn't take any more and left the scene along the road.

What is sad are the corporations will end up farming all these small places and then the laws or regulations will change to suit them. We need to get back to small farms. Every family should have 1500 acres to farm and raise animals on to feed themselves and maybe some neighbors. Get rid of large government and large agriculture corporations. Getting away from agriculture and nature has been the ongoing degradation of our society and country.

Small farms don't pay, it's hard, endless work and people don't want to pay what it costs a small farmer to grow food compared to the corporate farm that supplies Walmart in bulk cheaper.....depending on how old you are, your grand parents or great grand parents had a farm, they didn't get to go on vacations every year, the farm needed tending constantly, the kids didn't want to farm and moved away., it's only when you get older that you appreciate the peace of the farm.......what would happen if everyone had a farm is the vast majority would sell them off for the quick profit, and we would be back where we are now

There is a social media platform called next door and there is a local farmer in Pennsylvania that has a cattle farm for meat. I've driven by the farm plenty of times and the farm does not smell and it appears that the animals are in good condition have shelter food . A post appeared in next door calling on people to take down the farmer and I commented how unfair and wrong it was to do this behind the farmer's back and that the author should have the decency to go to the farmer and explain what the concerns are so that they can discuss it and be a neighbor. The author continued justify acting maliciously and behind the farmer's back and to me that seems like a bigger and more political agenda against this farmer. The authors complaint was that the animals were not being treated properly because they were in mud. The suggestion was to approach the farmer and ask the farmer to put sand down or a better footing because other than that the animals are in great health and they are going to be used for food. The majority of people supported the farmer and these are people that live in the neighborhood. Nextdoor continue to keep the post up despite the entire Community supporting the farmer. There is definitely something malicious going on in Pennsylvania against farmers and social media is being used as a vehicle to attack the farmers in my opinion

In my area a local produce farmer began offering flavored ice drinks from two small slushie machines. It was a winner that started pulling a profit for the family. Then the government told them to offer those they needed to install bathrooms, which would cost a fortune to install. 😮 So, basically, they put the slushie machines away, and now on the dog days of summer we don't get to have the refreshments when we stop in to buy our produce. I think it's just a lot of government people with too much time on their hands, so they are giving themselves busy work and they don't care that it's taking money away and out of the hands of the hard working local little people. To be a produce stand farmer it does take a whole lot of hard work and long hours! And now they can't even make a little extra money from selling the slushies that were a big hit with a lot of us. I think they are trying to ruin the little people. They want all of us to be corrupted corporatists.

I can understand your concept that PA has a desire to shut down farming. I own just 12 acres but boarded horses most of my life. I retired as Township board of supervisors chair and currently am an alternate zoning board member. PA's problem is population. We are blessed with an abundance of water, good soil, etc. Too many city and suburban people are moving into areas that were once very rural and do their civic duty by running for office or getting appointed to one. They do not understand ag or while wanting the views, don't want the noise, odors etc. related. Too many farmers don't get directly involved with politics. 100 acres has 1 or 2 votes. The same subdivided acres has well over 70 voting potential. My township adopted "a rural pro ag community". It helps. There's also misinterpretation of law by leaders who will force their concept. Fighting them legally is also expensive . To win costs literally years and tens of thousands.

That $12,500 road tax is the most asinine, unconstitutional, and egregious abuse of American Citizens that I've heard in the last 4 years. That is taxation without representation!! The whole point of the tax, upon tax, upon tax, on the fuel we buy at the pump, and farmers and commercial businesses having to pay an extra fuel tax at the end of the year on their income taxes, not to mention the high prices we pay at the DMV when we go to register our vehicles, all have to do with maintaining the roads, streets, highways and by-ways, in both federal and state jurisdictions. And yet every single road, bridge, railway, trailway, street, highway and by-way all look like chit!! With PA roads being one of the worst states to drive through due to such atrocious roadways. Why on God's green earth are they begging for another Boston tea party??? Because there is no way in hell I would give them one red penny extra, ever, to drive down the roads in a community that I lived in... Apparently they mismanaged the funds the first time. Why the hell would we give them anything more to obviously stuff in their own pockets?? VOTE THEM OUT, VOTE THEM ALL OUT!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH IS ENOUGH ALREADY!! What exactly are they going to do to them if they don't turn over that kind of money to the town every month? Are they going to lay down spike strips and pull pit maneuvers on the horse trailers? Please do tell, what are they going to do? cuz I'll load up my 38,000 lb school bus right now and come up there and have to do some protesting of my own. I'm over this country thinking it's okay to abuse its citizens... It's done, it's over, there will be no more abuse, no more stealing, NO MORE TYRANNY!!! Could be that the politician in question, and if he's on a board, then the other members of said board, want the WEF and UN awards in all sincerity. And/or it could be that the politician and board have investment deals lined up to line their pockets. My hometown has a City Council and Mayor, but they hire a City Manager to finagle deals and come up with development planning for the near and mid-term future of the city. We had one City Manager in the 1970s who got everyone on board with a planned Industrial Park, arguing against other development. Then it turned out he owned a lot of land in a nearby township, and made a huge profit selling it for development of strip malls, when our city residents wanted our downtown maintained as the main shopping district. There were some other things we wanted, that he poo-pooed, only for him to sell his township land for the very thing we wanted. I'm guessing there's something like that going on with this Greene County Board.

Yep, in Biloxi they are now saying that due to their guest cottage ordinance, you can’t stay overnight in a RV or a camper. Not one night. If friends visiting they can park in your driveway, but they cannot sleep in their own RV. What freedom loving citizens have done for years is now punishable by up to 1 year in jail and/or $1000 fine. We used to be a nation of freedoms, now we are a nation of laws…and those laws take away those freedoms. Make no mistake, this is top down driven. State funds to cities and municipalities have been/are contingent on adoption of these restrictive ordinances. Federal funding is contingent on states adopting the federal policies.

So, years back, the Chesapeake Bay initiative was created to clean up the bay. So, all of Eastern Pennsylvania drains into the Chesapeake Bay. So, a major part was to reduce farm runoff into streams. Mostly, farm waste run off directly into streams. They want farm waste to soak into the ground. So all the farmers around me have the huge pits to store waste for 6 months, then it is spread onto the fields usually twice a year. Spring before planting and fall after harvest. He must live in a populated twp for the road permit thing. But I know my township changed all of the bridge weight signs to 10 tons about 20 years ago. Milk truck haulers were passed. I think the bridge signs were changed state wide. Mostly from 70% of our bridges having failing inspections on them. So the bond thing is new to me, though. Hate to see this bond thing spread. Thanks for keeping us informed.

Most of these policy making fools have absolutely no knowledge of farming. They have never worked on one and obviously never were raised on one. Most farms are not major operations. They enjoy making policies with their name on it regardless of the harm it my do. I remember rising at 3 am. By 4 am the first eight of 84 walked into the milking barn. After cleaning the udders and teats I would place the milkers on them. After several hours, when the milking was finished, the old shoveling stuff out of the barn began then spraying it down, cleaning the milkers then looking to see how much milk was collected. Then came the chores of farming. At 4 pm the process began again. When their policies begin to adversely affect the food supply and all hell breaks loose then they might wake up to reality. Try a hard day of farming. You will sleep well that night.

What you have is "educated" former urban or suburban dwelling individuals that are new residents to the township or county involved. They buy 1 or 2 acres and build a home or buy an existing dwelling located in a rural setting. Once there. things like manure smell or more than 5 flies on their deck in Spring or they drive through a spot on the road where a farmer has been hauling manure or using the same ingress and egress to certain fields and mud is on the road and it makes their car dirty. It could also be a windy day in the Fall and the farmer is picking corn or grain and the husk or straw coming out of the combine creates a huge dust cloud and the debris blows onto their yard? or they had to close their windows? or maybe it makes the siding dirty on their home? I could go on forever when it comes to the nonsense I have listened to at monthly meetings. This is just the tip of the iceberg when it happens. At first, they just complain and then go home until next year. The fun starts when they decide to "fix" all of these so called "problems" because the township won't do anything? If they are in a township that has a lot of developments or a portion that simply has a higher ratio of single family homes to farms (easy to do), the irritated resident will usually at first volunteer for a zoning and planning commission or zoning board hearing member.(Easy to get unpaid position) When that does not yield the result they want, they quit. BUT...When it's time for elections of a manager or township supervisor, they run for the position and they usually have no issues getting elected. While most residents just go about their business and never really think about flies, mud or manure? After a few papers are shoved under their doors and some yard signs are read, these issues that were never a problem before now seem like a good idea to fix? Since it doesn't really have a negative or positive effect on their life, the non-farming residents will easily vote the agenda laden new resident into office. In most cases the voter turnout for these are really low and it isn't hard to get more votes than all of the farmers combined, especially in a township that has lots of new 1 acre lots with houses and they are filled with "city slickers" that had never seen a live cow, sheep, pig etc.until the day they moved in. But hey, all this stuff they "fix" will make our world a utopia filled with solar panels and blue skies? We can all eat veggies and let our animal friends run free as we wave to them while driving by in our electric automobiles............... WAKE UP MORONS! By the time you get the agenda minded person out it's usually to late and farms are now developments full of people with the same mindset. Don't believe me? You'll see? As you starve to death because there are no farmers left.

I'm in AZ and people keep coming from California out here buying homes next to one of our communities oldest Historical Landmark restaurants called the Mining Camp which is out in Goldfield a major tourist attraction and A huge part of our local economy. We'll it burned down! The whole community come together w8th help and support to rebuild it! Three of its neighboring houses consisting of families that hadn't even lived there more than 3-5 years signed petitions knew the right people at the county permitting office, and even though building permits had already been approved to rebuild! They were suddenly rescinded without cause! So something that had been there for like 100 years was overthrown by some rich Aholes from Cali who hadn't even been here A decade! Another couple bought the property next to the only horse rescue out here. Decided they couldn't stand the smell and had it shut down! Anybody see that one episode in season 4 of Yellowstone where that rich dude was putting up cattle guards blocking that ranchers cattle from changing pastors? That kind of thing happens more often than you think. When land owners refuse to sell not for any amount of money! It really pisses these rich Aholes off who think everything's for sale. Just crushes they're ego's. So theyll buy up everything surrounding you and make it impossible for you to even reach your land without first trespassing on there's! Knowing that small farmers likely don't have the money for attorneys fee's to fight them in court! It's F-Up how they can even get away with doing this kind of thing all over the country. All of our politicians should be working class citizens not these already wealthy Aholes who have no idea what its like to work a laborious job and get dirty. Who understand what all it takes for the food on your plate to get there. From planting the seeds, watering, growing, harvesting, packaging, shipping, to it being sold and distributed and making its way to becoming an overpriced salad at some fancy five star restaurant or simply the lettuce used on A fast food burger! These rich cats have no understanding of these concepts so when they pass laws and regulations and fees/fines imposed on the Lil guy! They think it's no big deal. Just like the cost of everything going up with inflation. Ya sure they might complain about it, but it's not actually affecting them in anykind of financial way to where they're worried about putting gas in the tank or keeping the lights on like it does to the rest of us! Some rich guy can buy up your farmland and pay for all those upgrades no problem and that's what these governments are counting on.

Local governments need more money ,and only way to do that is tax. So in turn if they can turn the land over to developers . Then developers can build and governments can tax. That's the cold hard truth and facts. These politicians only get into office to help them self's or there buddies that have multi million dollar businesses to change the rules for them to profit more.
