Hey KL, I put the gold cup stokems on the penny. It worked out great! The board feels a lot more smooth on the street, and the large lip made it have an extra sense of control!

It can help if you use the flex to your advantage. When you are pushing, get a good "bounce" in your push, so you can get some spring from your board.

Great video. I've been looking into the cool retro kind of boards for awhile and caved in and bought a Kryptonics Torpedo. Not bad for 40 bucks, but it definitely needs a bit of upgrading to get the best ride. I think I'll have to grab one of those Banana Boards too!

ThaRealUSC Either would be the same difficulty to learn to ride. With that being said, these boards are excellent means of transportation around college campuses. Its how I get around all the time.

Yeah they don't make th originals anymore bro ......unfortunately.... its just a term now for old skool plastic flexies..... you can get a Z-Flex tho with is the same but a million times better..... legend Jay Adams was founder of company and are the same as the original zephyr boards ;)

So i got a penny board last week and I've been using pretty much everyday for about min. 3 hours. I somehow have my penny flip over having the deck on the road resulting to scratches whenever I use it. I got a 22" soda fade and the scratches peels of the color making it white. I think that just comes with riding a board. They're going to get beat up. My board is filled with dents and scratches. It gives it character. Hope this helps :/

Yes! very suitable. it will feel different than a normal skateboard, but the plastic cruisers were the original trick board back in the 80's. -KL

Seems, from the test-ride video that the Penny carves faster due to 3 inch Hanger and not so much lip/offset. Banana slows in the turn when weighted up on the lip. I pick Penny. Great setting for a review video. Looks like an amazing place to ride!

I think you would be very happy with the banana. The Bananas deck has a good amount of flex to it. Both the Penny and the Banana have very similar weights. Good luck! Have fun!

It's not the ONLY thing, It's just a somewhat large portion in the speed formula for longboards. You can have two completely different boards and the one with abec 7 can be faster than the one with abec 11

I can afford both banana and penny boards. I like smooth. fast, and long lasting mini cruisers that can carve and do manuals/tricks on. I own a nickel at the moment and look for something portable.
